I figure hell, I'll trash my credit myself. That way, no one WANTS to steal my identity! 😀
Its like the parking lot thoery... Does the theif steal the 00 Camaro SS or the 72 faded green Pinto...
Oh yeah. They take the New Hotness, my Old & Busted stays right where I need it 😉

😀

A little advice: when applying for a credit card or any other kind of credit where they ask for your mothers madien name dont give it use a codeword. It is really hard to scam your credit without the proper information.

Ok, that's just scary. I'vve been meaning to run another one on myself lately. Just closed a credit card I've never used, so I figure I'll do another one in a month or so. Ran one for my mom last year and there was quite a few things on there that were way wrong. A couple accounts that she never opened and never got a card for. Scary stuff. None of them had balances on there, but still it's just the principal of it.

It's kinda sad that they can make so many mistakes on such an important document. The Credit Report can really screw you up. It's a nightmare for my brothers, my sisters and I. Four of the children (out of 5) in my family have very similar names (non traditional asian names). They seem to lump us all as one. It was a pain when the oldest brother & his wife was buying a house. He had to contact us all to get everything straighten out.

I don't think the credit union cares how accurate it is. That's YOUR job.

They want you to check it anyways as they make $ every time soneone, you, bank, company, whatever, checks your report.
