Holy freaking cow, best server ever. Kinda laggy but certainly playable. It takes a ton of power and bandwidth to play right now, but it's freaking crazy. Playing Berlin right now, 1300tickets on allied, 800 on axis.

216.228.113.11:14567 or 23000 on the port, not sure.

ive been in a few 64 player battles, they were all awesome but the lag was pretty bad...

edit: just joined and my ping is mid 70s which is pretty good for me...in most of the ea servers i have like 50-60s but those are usually onlt 32 players..

Named

nVidia Test Sever for those looking for it.

Yeah most 64 player games can't handle it though. Nvidia should have the bandwidth and speed to make it work...hopefully....

This is laggier than the last map which was buldge. It was running great.

sweet :)

but it sucks that whenever I play on a 40-50 player server my computer just dies, or even when I'm playing on a server with only 20-30 people and alot happens.

Is it a very cpu intensive game compared to graphics and bandwith?

yeah, and a athlon xp 1800
and 512mb ddr
and a 512/256kbps adsl

so I'm not sure whats slowing it down
though I play it at 1280x968 with everything maxed out and get about 80-90fps most of the time but it often dips down to like 10-20

I think it gets to be a CPU hog when there are tons of folks. Even at 1024x768 it slows down when 20 and 30 people start showing up.

Insane server. The first I've played on that is that big and actually was playable. Seen much much worse. Last map was Gazala and was flying through the canyons and under bridges ;) Gotta fix some grub so taking a breather. There is almost 0 rest time when you play there. 1400 tickets on each side for Gazala.

Battle of the Bulge was probably the funnest map so far. Up at the windmill and could see like 15 guys prone shooting towards the south at the allied base at the bridge. Intense stuff. Or better yet see a tank come rolling around a corner, then 4 or 5 bazooka trails in the distance :)

Hopefully they'll keep the server up, I bet that costs a lot to host...

216.228.113.11:14567 or 23000 on the port, not sure. All Seeing Eye gives me 2 different ports, so it'll be one or the other.

Meant to say I'm playing on a 2.4 P4 (150fsb) and a Ti4400 (300/670) and about 12500 in 3dmark2k1se so the slow down is normal.

I played on this server, got 80's ping rates. See my WinXP system in the sig for details on what I was playing with.

The graphic lag or whatever when it gets busy is unbearable. I was getting 6-10 fps when it got crowded and busy. 40-50 fps when alone.

The game needs to be optimized more to handle that kind of load.

I was there last night and it was pretty slow, except that I was getting arund 10fps most of the time and my ping was 150 most of the time.

still it was the first time I'v ever seen an aircraft carrier take out the huge japanese battleship by raming it and almost turning it up side down :)

I wonder if the problem lies in the server and not our systems.

Could be the game itself. Maybe even having a P10 500ghz wouldn't run it perfectly. I'd say 90% of the time it runs just like it does on any EA server with 24 people. I can strafe infantry with airplanes, precisely drop my payload where I want, etc. The other 10% of the time it gets a little goofy. Warping, shooting at stuff that appears across the screen the next second, etc. It seems to come in spurts though. After a minute or so of it doing that it's back to normal. Perhaps the server getting bogged down.

It certainly doesn't have the best netcode ever, and I think the 1.2 patch should address some of the problems with it. I can't knock the server too much because it runs great for me most of the time, and with 64 folks it's hard to complain. Maybe it runs like crap for everyone else and that's why I kill everyone :p

We played Wake Island last night and was the hardest ownage I have seen in a while. I started on allied and headed to the planes. Grabed the SBD. The guys in the other planes played perfectly. I hit the carrier while the torpedo guy hit the battleship while the Corsair was shooting landing craft before they hit the beach. If I saw a landing craft take off I started shooting it, then went back to the carrier. We had 1400 tickets and they had 1680 and the game was over in less than 7 minutes, nothing the enemy could do :) It took about 2 minutes just for the timer to countdown to 0 from 1600 :p

Teh win!

haha i played last night, got a ping of 200, which is remotely playable (aim infront hehe)
it was wild as hell!!! on wake island as the allies we were like trapped on the last 2 command points (the ones that aren't the airbbase and beach) and we had axis planes and battleships bombing the hell out of us. it's the first ime i saw APC's fill up, it was cool driving along and all of us getting vaporised in a second by the destroyer.

i'm gonna try and get on tonight, and hopefully when i upgrade to 1024/256 things should get better (currently got 512/128 and in UK)
