No they are not.

What's even funnier is what the consulting company is billing for her. They're making their money regardless of what experience she has.

Good, experienced management consultants are definately not overpaid, but a young gun right out of college (usually) knows next to nothing about how the real world works.

Finance people frequently drink their way through school and get super high paying jobs, especially with practical experience (internships and stuff).

Also, if you are taking a job in NYC, $80,000 a year isn't really that much. That's a pretty modest starting salary. I know a guy from my hometown who went to NYU and now works in NYC and makes about that in his first year.

i would start her at $55K max. then again...i dont own a consulting company.

she's overpaid for her experience and credentials for sure.

We have now ay of knowing that.

That is why :camera:'s are in order.

consultants are pretty much always overpaid.
yup.

Have any idea how many times I've seen this:
Consulting Firm = 2 words put together for a freelancer with maybe another guy who takes in a lot of money.

My sister, 22, partied through college, got a two year offer in a management consulting firm with annual salary of US $80,000 , this makes a normal engineer's salary pathetic (considering what we have to go through in collge).

Man I feel so bad.

If she is good it's a bargain.

You make what you are worth. Nothing more. Nobody is underpaid or overpaid.
