black friday...
ocz...

now that's out of the way, great deal

ocz is correct,

but for the next 5 hours if you buy 3 items from buy.com you get 15% off in rakuten points and 5% with discover card so the item is 300 -20 percent or 240 and a 20 dollar rebate 220 for a 480 gb ssd I am guessing black friday may not be better.

seems you can't combine disco and bonus rakuten points... oh well, we'll see... took this opportunity to get the tokina 11-16mm lens i've been wanting... will be nice if it works...

but there's a short time limit (15 days) on spending the extra rakuten points...

I've had limited success. Sometimes I get a message saying I can't get the bonus points because I'm linking through cashback, other times it works fine. Still, I'd rather get the cashback, because the bonus points expire quickly.

yes it is not consistent.

you can also do ebates then pay with a credit card 3 % plus 1% . which is also inconsistent. but yesterday I ordered 5x samsung for 170 each 15% off and 3% off with my bank americard. so I am happy.

buy dot com helps my ebay reseller business a lot.

in fact I shifted from mac mini upgrades to reselling partly due to buy dot com and gillbot from this site.

Nothing wrong with recent OCZ drives. I had a BSOD issue with a 60gb Agility 3 and OCZ offered a replacement. It turned out to be my RST drivers and everything was fine once I updated them.

ocz has to they are getting rid of all their diverse lines or face extinction.

If they do go out of business that warranty is going to be awesome?

Whether they go extinct or get bought, no matter! No suitor is going to honor those warranties. Too many headaches with all their ssd bricking and too many migraines with all the firmware issues. Stay away.

I'm eager to see what kind of deals black friday gives us on 512GB SSDs. If they get down to the sub $300 level (no rebates), I'll be getting six of them and an ASRock Extreme 11 with its LSI controller. Move all of my data to the array and only use the 4TB mechanical drive for backups.

I have 3 OCZ SSD's and not a one has been an issue... I love how a few bad apples mark the bushel bad with some people. If you don't like the product, get out of the thread and say nothing. Unless of course you have some proof or a way to make the deal any better then a link would be nice.

As much as I hate OCZ for their past malfeasance (overclocked ram anyone?), I have not had any problems with the two SSDs I have from them.
