I dunno, it can't be too good to be one of those people, but it certainly is a communitarian effort to make those irresponsible follow the law.

That said, I don't think it's a good idea in regards to the idea of the individual, but from a community stand point, sure.

Sounds like a great idea. If they aren't taking care of their children then they don't deserve normal rights.

I know where some of you are coming from. It's not always a dead beat dad that feels the anger from the angry women that talk to you from Child Maintenance. They sent me bill for $ 12,000 due immediately. My daughter at that time was 23 years old and had moved out when she was 18 years old and I set her up and sent her money every month to help her out. When I called about this situation she agreed that I did not owe a cent and that mt ex did not phone in to stop it but nicely informed me that I would have to get a lawyer to fix it in court and have a nice day. Her words. It burns me to see deadbeat dads that are neglecting to acknowledge there own blood. As the other side said not all dads are losers.

I just read that from the comments. If what he says is true, then yes, this is a fucked up system. I shouldn't have Big Mother breathing down my neck just because I was paying child support up to 18 years--that should be the default, afterward, the system should fuck off.

I'm not defending dead beats, but how do they always know the circumstances or even prove the truth? I can imagine many willing to do it just to smear a persons name.

If they go to college full-time immediately after 18 they still have to pay. I'm sure there are other circumstances as well. Like if the child was in school for over so many years it could become a hardship.

That's a load of horseshit. I'm a deadbeat dad by their bullshit standards even though I'm paying $207 per week for my son, which doesn't leave enough money to take care of me and my daughter. The cunts get their asses kissed by the government, and if you're a white male, you just get fucked.

Yeah they'd have to have a system for it. Not all deadbeat dads would be part of 'the list' but only blatent proven ones. There's always going to be grey areas and things to work out.

yeah i agree with that.... you need two people to make a baby, so the mother would have been engaged in the mechanics of baby making.

How much does a person have to pay in child support (and for how long) to actually rack up over a million dollars past due?

Someone please post that article about that Canadian guy who used to make around $100,000 (some kind of specialized Xerox technician?) and still had to sell all his possessions and move in with his parents in his late 40s. I believe that dude didn't even have any kids but it's a depressing article nonetheless and helps me unleash my rage.
