Oh, no. It takes about an hour to write a 6 page paper if you're on top of things. Poor you. Same poop, different scoop...

Well 6 pages in an hour is pushing it even if you know fairly well what you want to write. I'd say it's more like several hours, but again yeah it's not something I would be complaining a huge amount about.

WHY DO PEOPLE SUCK SO MUCH?! UGH! They're STUPID, BAD WRITERS, OVERLY EMOTIONAL, and UNCREATIVE. >.< I don't want to pick up their slack either because that's what I do for EVERYONE else and that's NOT working in a group. I hate people who are so emotionally charged(AKA go crazy when they don't get what they want) while in groups too, and these people are that.

Oh the ironing. 😱:hmm:

I know you're all trolling, but I'll respond anyway. 🙂 (I know how it is to not be fed!)

Anyway, the thing is this: A group means you work as a GROUP. One person(even if they only get A's on their papers and everyone else is just some shit with a name tag) is not ALLOWED to do it all. Yah got me? So, I am just going to fix some shit and then probably tell them some stuff so they can work on it too...

Well, I suppose it depends on how much you care about the class. I wrote a 5 pager for a class I was taking for credit during my last semester in 50 minutes. I did a little preliminary research for it the day before and just cranked it out.

It was an intro course and I happened to have taken a few of those over the last 4 years. I like to write - but I don't think it's too hard to figure out what the professor wants to hear and write it down.

No, being in a group still means you get out what you put in. I know it's bullshit but that's the way it is. If you want that A, you have to make sure you get that A.

I've never actually had a job in the real world where I've had to work in a group for very long but even I can tell you that, umm, yeah that exactly how it's going to turn out in many groups out there too (not just school). Some people will do all the work and others will just tag along for the ride. And you know what your boss will still expect you to get it done 2 hours earlier than you think is humanly possible. And if you complain to him too much he's more likely to fire you than they guy not doing any work.

I have the sense to avoid group-based college classes whenever possible, but agree with you based on my limited experiences regardless. Peer review in English 101 was hilariously sad.

>_< I do not like this system!

Neither do I. But I graduate next week and if I needed that grade, I got it.

If I'm taking a 1K level class for credit and someone wants to step up and take charge - you're damn right I'm going to let them.

I don't really know. I know I'm lucky for having the chance to get a college education. On that note, I'm looking at a mountain of personal debt and am really wondering if it was worth it. That's probably why I'm so cynical. Whatever.

I know I am not a perfect writer, not even a decent writer, but I know shitty writing when I read it.

I am in a small groups class, and I was semi-randomly chosen to be in this group of six people. One of the people doesn't have English as their native language, so obviously I give them slack, but the others are native and WTF. WHY DO PEOPLE SUCK SO MUCH?! UGH! Hate hate hate hate hate groups.. Only did this class because I thought it would look good on an application for admission. :< Stupid class. I better get an A anyway.

Oh, and if you think I am emotional... I am only bitchin' on ATOT because it makes a bigger reaction from you. I know how you work, and you'll probably deny it now just to try to show me I am "wrong."

Ok.. Trident listen up. Here is an honest opinion I have on your situation.

Just do the crap and get it over with. You are trying to get into a better school so focus on the future, don't dwell on the present/past.

If you don't want to deal with people that have piss poor english skills, you should have planned for and accounted it in the past. You missed the chance on that train, and now you're blaming it on the people who are already seated on the train while you just got on.

So man up and take what you are given, be glad at least you were given another chance to catch up at UW or wherever it is you mentioned you're heading to.

Writing essays is apart of the college experience. The more you do the easier it comes to you and it becomes no big deal at all. 6 pages? Shoot, I was writing 15-20 page assignments on a biweekly basis for every class. Plan on a major related to liberal arts? Then you'll be writing even more.

Thanks to all that college writing these days I can wall of text without even trying. All it just takes the motivation to start it.

You've confused me a bit.

I've been working on this paper a bit, and I will get it done by the end of tomorrow. I've emailed my teacher for an extension for it because of my groups inadequacy. Hopefully she's understanding and will let me get my extension so I can at least get this a BIT better than a super rough draft. >_<

Maybe it would be cool and beneficial to everyone in your life including you if you would stop complaining about every single god damn thing! 😀!

While OP is the Pot calling the Kettle black, in this particular instance, he's probably right regarding his group.

Any chance that email was a lot like your posts here?

I still think it is something to be expected as he is attending the community college for a reason. If he did better during high school he most likely would not have to face the issues he has with his school now.

Unless he purposely has a good reason why he didn't do that great in HS, he is on track with his second chance right now.

Friggin A' it's been 4 days since the OP and he couldn't do 6 pages?

I had severe depression in high school and an alcoholic father and no friends. Only different thing now is that I don't have an alcoholic father and my depression ain't as bad. Also, I didn't have the money for a university(Biggest issue!). Now I do because I have a full ride to just about any public university.

I just read the paper last night. :O I've been working on it... Considering I did only my part(the part that was planned) of the research out of a lot of possible research... It's a bit hard to write about shit you know nothing about. But I guess ATOT has lots of experience there.
