Coming over here searching our trash cans for paper that should be recycled. Apparently someone put an empty bottle of coke in the office paper recycle bin. Now everyone is getting a lecture about how recycling works and how we are going to do things from now on.
I don't even know who this person is. Obviously he is pretty important because everyone is humoring him.

In that case, STFU and suck it up.

Tell him plastic recycling is wasteful, not cost effective, causes more pollution than producing virgin plastics, and is bad for the environment.

Recycling only works when it is cost effective and the process reduces pollution.

Why lie to him?

This is hardly a lie. Plastic recycling costs FAR more than virgin plastic production and produces more pollution than virgin plastics production. That is a fact.

NYC didn't end their plastic recycling program for nothing. Doing so saved 40 million dollars... while the aluminum and paper recycling programs were MAKING money.

Well, first thing you need to do is find out who he is.

Maybe he doesn't work there and this guy was paid to run a penetration test - and he's currently "dumpster diving" right in front of your faces.

Amazing, I didn't realize this.
