Hmmm..I thought newegg required signature for this stuff or fed-ex wouldn't leave it...

Well newegg didn't get it to you so I guess it is there fault...You didn't wave any signature, did you??? If you didn't it is their faulkt and they can deal with fed-ex or what ever insurance they have on the package...

Wow, that sucks. Had that happen at an old place i lived at, had the PO hold my packages from then on.

Call newegg and make them deal with it.......Just say you didn't get the package....ask them what they are going to do about it....They take the risk by leaving it and not requiring an authorized signature....A lot of companies I buy from now wont leave crap, period!!! I am constantly going to fed-ex to pick up packages...but I dont mind....280 dollar memory...200 dollar PSU....280 dollars in new mobo and cpu....all worth the 15-20 minutes to go get it....

You left the sh*t on your doorstep??? You deserve to get that sh*t stolen. That was stupid. Very stupid. Send the sh*t to a UPS or Fed Ex drop box.

I pick sh*t up at 3am when it arrives at Fed Ex. :p Nothing wrong with a phone call and a short drive.

I completely agree. You did not get the package so it is not your fault.

I guess its my fault according to him. Because my package was delayed for 2 days hence I didnt even know when it was going to be delivered because its past the estimated shipping date. And I was at school, DAMMIT I knew I should of used my magical fed ex delivery senses to skip school and come home to pick up a package that I didnt even know was there.. dammit! Its all my fault!

It is not your fault.....

this is a product of newegg being to fvcking stupid to pull their head out of their arse and realise this is a problem everywhere...They should require signatuire on all items above a certain dollar figure...They will learn their lesson soon enough and change to a policy like the other big guys....

1) you cant trust the fed-ex punks.....they leave it on your door and wont even rig the doorbell...they dont care those half-ass punks...I have caught them doing this several times...They are in such a hurry to deliver all the packages an go home they dont even spend the time to make sure you get the package....

I have had them deliver the package while I was at home only to have my wife tell me a package was on the doorstep.....5 hours later!!! I was home all the time with a very easy to hear doorbell....

2) the schedule delivery on the webpage has been wrong a lot...I have had it not even say it was going to be deliver to have it be delivered....

don't remember if it was newegg or zipzoomfly, but whichever it was shipped via fedex and they left my $450 order at my door steps of a condominium with about 7 other units up and around my place, and the mailbox unit right by too for the rest of the people who live around my area to pass by to see (when they come get their mail.) luckily it didn't get stolen though. i've been meaning to add my workplace to a delivery site for my packages, so i can get it anytime without worrying about missing it since they never deliver at a set time.

sorry to hear for your loss though, good luck in getting it straightened up.

duvie hit it right, unless you signed a pre-authorized drop thing(you know what i mean) it's not your fault.

Agreed.

FedEx will not leave any packages at my doorstep under any circumstances. IIRC FedEx requires a signature for all delivery's unless you sign a release.

UPS however, does this all the time to me. That is one of the reasons I despise UPS.

Fed Ex deliverers get paid by the package. That's why they are in such a rush. It's understandable why they don't want to stand around and actually wait for you to open the door and get the item because time is money. However, while it's understandable it's still inexcusable. I'd call Newegg up and see if you can't get a new item shipped out. There should be insurance on it. If not call Fed Ex up and explain the situation to them and ask them to replace the item. Not saying you will get it replaced but it's worth a try.

This is a very good reason why everyone should have their work or an alternate address listed on their credit card as valid shipping addresses. I know of a few guys at work who are never home and thus use our work address as the shipping address for UPS/Fed Ex delivered items.
