Think of it like a CRT monitor.

Exactly, printers are like CRT monitors. And if you can afford it, an LCD monitor, or laser printer, is better in every concievable way.

Sorry but HP has become serious crap with their inkjets. $200 inkjet and the duplexer screws up more than it works. It failed a few times before but it's gotten so bad now that 3 out of 4 pages will fail to duplex. Of course this didn't start doing it this badly until a month after the warranty was up. :(

ok idiot...that is a pretty ignorant statement. CRTs are still way better in a lot of areas. before you make stupid comments like that, maybe you should know what you are talking about.

Let me tell you about our HP 4550 Colour Laserjet, it is a very nice printer. I use it mostly for non-work related printing.

However, once in a while, it'll eat paper like crazy. People here blame it on moist papers.

CRT's are not like printers. Printers have a constant upkeep cost, paper, ink and depending on type printheads.

I use to use HP printers, but have switched to Canon. Ink is considerably cheaper, as you don't have to replace whole printhead. I also think they may be less prone to jamming, but that is purely subjective.

So you're saying that inkjet printers are better than color laser printers?

Methinks he doesn't have the kind of HP printer that you service. You know, the expensive kind.

That said, I have a cheapie HP inkjet and I like it. I don't like how much the ink costs, but I don't use it that much so I can deal with it. It jams once in a while. When it jams, I pull the paper out.

I'd say we have a fairly equitable relationship.
