There are competitors and they are just as expensive.

Who cares? How else are you going to surf Slashdot without anyone but the IT guys knowing? (and even that can be circumvented by tunneling / VNCing back home)

The 3M filter for my Dell 20" (4:3) cost a small fortune (~$80 IIRC), but it was well worth it!

I do wish they were cheaper.
My desk is set up in some annoying open style. My back is to the open area. I don't like people seeing the neffing that I am doing, especially the bosses.

We use them all over the place in schools. Parents tend to get upset if we display student data for anyone to see and there are many situations where the monitors are partially visible from side angles.
