i have googled, and anandtech searched for awdflash.exe and awdflash but i cannot for my life find out where the latest awdflash.exe version can be found. asus doesnt seem to have it, nor a few other mobo companies i checked, nor does phoenix tech itself seem to have it on their website. googling gets me a bunch of results, but no guarantee which version is the latest. this seems really stupid

are you trying to flash your board?

Then just get the awdflash that comes with the BIOS update.

or are you just trying to get the latest and greatest awdflash?

well i downloaded the bios update for my board from the asus website, and it is only a zip file with one file in it, the bios bin file

and yes i am trying to get the latest and greatest, since it is a relatively newer board, and asus doesnt tell me which version i should use

and with something as critical as a bios update, i dont feel like chancing it

thx firetech. its ridiculous that i have to go to a some third party website that links me to some other third party website to find awdflash. furthermore, im pretty sure 8.22 is not the latest version as ive found references to 8.33 and 8.54b while googling... but i have no way to know if 54b is relatively new or not and what might have come after

I have never had a problem using the supplied awdflash.

what board is it you are flashing?

According to ASUS the EZ Flash is already built in to the BIOS chip!
All you do is just download the new bios to a floppy, re-start the PC and hit <Alt> & <F2> together during the POST screen. This brings up the insert disk legend, insert floppy into drive and hit enter. (no mention of moving any jumpers)
You can also do it in Windows and online too.
This is from page 4-7 of the A8N-SLI-Premium manual.
