I can deal with a little echo, but i had a two second delay echo and i luterally almost canceled a call with a customer because if it

Every time i spoke, i had to move the phone away from my ear so i couldnt hear the reverb and break my train of thought.

I suppose if i had a good phone voice this would be enjoyable and flattering

Wtf causes this on a landline and does it.just bother me?

If it's a hard line it's most likely the CBX port is going bad. Or an impedance mismatch on a channelized circuit along the way.

If this is your office, could be a problem with your PBX or your circuits. All sorts of things can cause that echo, even more so if you you get packetized into IP along the way.

I have this every once in a while on my phone at work. Ours are digital, so a quick reboot fixes it.

Have you tried rebooting? Unplugging it and plugging it back in? Smashing it with a hammer?
