The largest Yacht is owned by Turkey and is 408' long and travels at 21 knots. You can buy it outright for $28million(Its 70 years old), or lease it.

Norman's new yacht is about the 35th largest in the world. Not bad for a golfer.

Someone mentioned islands. Islands are cheap to buy($300,000-$20million), expensive to set up.
Would that be the Savarona? I didn't know Turkey owned it. I thought it was still owned by the children of the original owner.

My personal favorite is the "Limitless", Americas second largest yacht.

Islands cheap WTF? 16 acres for 1.7 M is not cheap since most rural property in US goes for around $1000 an acre. Islands are rural with nothing and typhoons. actually sounds like a serious rip off.

Dude. The thing is 228 FEET LONG. Moving something that big at almost 20mph is pretty damn good.

I dunno, they move Nimitz class carriers at greater than 30 knots.

Yeah with a nuclear reactor...

1,000,000 for a "home" theater system, huh?

Somewhere around the $136,000 mark there ceases to be anything you can do to make a home theater system better.

Well, wine doesn't really get any better past $150 per bottle, but people buy it anyway. All about the status of having spent so much money on one thing, I guess.

That chick doesn't like Tiger Woods. She likes his wallet. If you had a fat wallet like Tiger you'd be shagging Miss Ivana Humpalot too.
/looks at contents of wallet

I'm f*cked. No humping hot swedish models in my future. :(

Yes its the Savarona.

When Savarona was being restored in the late 1980s and early 1990s?a fire in 1979 all but destroyed her?workers discovered a secret passage that led from the master stateroom down to the engineer?s cabin; apparently Savarona?s original owner, American heiress Emily Cadwalader-Roebling, was having an affair with the crew member. Kahraman Sadikoglu, a Turkish businessman, holds a lease on the yacht (the Turkish government owns her, but doesn?t use her for state business) which expires in 2038. Parties interested in purchasing her prior to then are, of course, welcome?but only if you?re willing to pay $25 million, the reported asking price. If you?d rather experience a slice of what life would be like aboard, you can charter Savarona for $350,000 per week.

They are cheap compared to other rich toys. I mean, a $15million private resort that only you live on, or a $70million jet or yacht? Its cheap for rich people. I didnt say it was cheap for the avg joe.

Its not a rip off, its something you can actually make a mint off of if you wanted too. Or you could use it for personal pleasure.

Designs courses. Has a line of clothing and golf clubs. Markets his own wine. Etc, etc. Very savvy businessman, he is.

One thing puzzled me though:

Accomodates 14 crew and 12 passengers

That's it? 26 people? I mean, I'm sure that ship has a ballroom that can accomodate 500 people, but only sleep 26? Heck....for that much money, I want beds, man. :D

And it IS cheap. Here in NJ you will pay over $1M for a QUARTER ACRE on Brigantine Island, which is one of the CHEAPER beach areas because it's not a resort town. It won't even be beach front for that.

Sure, you can get farm land in Montana for $1000 an acre, but you got to want to live in Montana. Location, location, location. More people want an island paradise rather than a horse farm.

You pay $1-2million per arce in certain areas of downtown Dallas. That 45,000 sqf house that burned down was on an expensive 10acre lot.
