Just fired up warcraft 3 and there are tons of modded games featuring tower defense, sooooo much fun in coop!

don't need to download anything either, it all comes w/ the maps
 
The only reason I purchased Warcraft 3 was for tower defense maps. If you like tower defense, also check out Defense Grid on Steam. It's a very well designed tower defense game with goals and achievements and much better graphics than you'll ever see in a Warcraft 3 map.
 
Hmmm... guess you don't know that starcraft and warcraft 3 are where the tower defense games pretty much started. Kind of odd you're just finding this out now

Hey if 11 million people can believe WoW was the first MMO and all the rest are clones, then I'm sure one person can be ignorant of this :awe:

I'm not a huge TD fan but Defense Grid is great.
 
he was more referring to people who call newer MMO's 'WoW clones' because they operate on exactly the same premise with the exact same HUD and share the same boring-ass grindfest gameplay.

i am aware that WoW was not the first MMO. unlike him, though, i'm also aware that most all the MMO's realeased since it have been shitty cash grabs that tried to copy WoW but apparently failed 'cause they didn't do it good enough. maybe it's time to try something new.

Lay off the fizzy drinks, welcome to 1998 🙂 Starcraft has had tower defence maps for years which then made their way into warcraft III. Both awesome games for custom maps.
 
Starcraft and Warcraft III TD maps were some of the best game play I've ever experienced. There are a number of decent flash-based TD games these days as well - Bloons TD, while cartoony and somewhat silly, is one of my favorites. I prefer Bloons TD 3 over 4 though; I think the fourth is too complex. There's also one that's all about mushrooms that was very well constructed, but I found it was too easy once you know what to build.

I might give Defense Grid a try. If I can find it on sale for $5 any time soon, I'll snatch it up in a heart beat.

Someone on this forum made their own defence game a while back, fight off horses with your office workers, pwnyz i think it was called. Dont know what happened to that though.
 
And just imagine all the wonderful Tower D remakes we'll get with StarCraft2!!! 😉

I'll probably spend hours on end playing Elemental Tower D or Enfo's Hero D clones when SC2 comes out. I'll need to call Comcast and turn off my internet if I want to get through the campaign. 🙁

i actually PMed the author of that game. Turns out after they turned that in for a class project, nothing much happened 🙁

I really enjoyed that game 😀
