The poor guy was declared brain dead and has since but taken off life support or whatever, GOOD JOB KIDS!

what the hell is wrong with people!?!?!?

Some guy, 54 years old is rollerblading along a bike trail in Newport Beach, this is a pretty middle/upper scale area to live. While he was blading along, 3 kids shot at him with a paintball gun from the bluffs above. He gets hit, falls, and cracks his skull open on the pavement. He wasn't wearing a helmet. He is now in a coma. :Q:|

damn nerds with their paintball guns thinking the world is CS or something. Can't resort to a real working job, get bored and hurt each other...
 
Granted, it's stupid of the guy not to wear a helmet, but still, I hope they catch the little punks for shooting the guy; they're still partly responsible for what's happened.:|

Yeah I heard about it on the news today. It happened at the Back Bay Trails. They are hiking trails in Newport Beach, here is a link about the trails if anyone cares.... http://www.ocnow.com/recreation/guides/hike/newportbay.html . Anyways, those kids are really stupid. As a side note, around this area (Newport Beach) the use of airsoft guns (guns that shoot little plastic pellets, they leave a welt but aren't fatal) has definitely increased.

Humm...Someone should do an estimate on how much it would cost for these people to stay in jail. Gather a whole bunch up and instead of putting people in jail we could blast them into space if it's more cost efficient.

If these kids are old enough to make reasonable decisions (if they were teens) they are worthless members of society.

Usually I'm all for swift & painful justice, but in this case I'm a little torn.

Yes, it was f'ing stupid for them to do that. But it seems like a relatively harmless prank gone horribly awry, not malicious behavior.

These kids will get a slap on the wrist at most. Chances are these are little rich kids from Newport Beach and in America they don't lock up rich kids unless they're black.
 
Interesting, I saw a paintball gun starter kit at the local Fry's to Newport beach for $199....

Just a totally unrelated side note.
