In defense of DamRena, I sold her some hardware in AT's FS/FT forum and she was a good trader, paid on time and gave good communication. Would trade again.

Internet Internet Service Provider Service?

Yes, there's taxes on everything.

Lets prove you wrong. Please call 18883212375 and ask if there are any hidden charges.

without your bill/ account info on hand it wouold be a useless call. hidden charges are just that... HIDDEN. itemized charges on your bill wont be hidden. if your bill says something like

19.95 -intarwebz
0.00 -tax
------- +
150.00 -total

the math would be wrong, you could call them and they would say "o wow, howd that happen?" and fix it. since they didnt, im betting there are items listed you havent noticed. scan all the pages to your bill and post it with personal info blacked out or stfu.

Under the grandfather clause included in the Internet Tax Freedom Act, Texas is currently collecting a tax on Internet access charges over $25.00 per month. Texas collected tax on internet access prior to the enactment of ITFA under the "Taxables Services" provision of its Tax Code, see older § 151.0101(a). Texas has refined its tax code to define "Internet access service", include it under "Taxable Services" and exempted the first $25.00 on a monthly basis, See current Texas Tax Code § 151.325 & 151.0101(a).

No, i said specifically its 19.95 a month no hidden charges no nothing, $19.95 a month is $19.95 a month. So if alot of you idiots think there are hidden charges, there is not. SO let me get this straightend out, $19.95 a month MEANS $19.95 a month.

ahhhh....that is not even possible....by law, you have to subjected to taxes for internet.

If you have a late fee chances are they might be charging you a reactivation fee every time you miss a payment.

Half the people arguing in this thread that "of course they are hidden charges because they are hidden" are expressing the same ignorance. AT&T will tell you that there are no hidden charges because, well, they aren't hidden. They aren't part of the advertised rate because they aren't part of the rate, but they are part of the bill. That said, I see fundamental misunderstandings, like someone thinking that she paid $150 per month for three months when she said that she paid $160 over six months. That sounds right: $35 set-up fee, six $20 monthly charges, and some taxes totaling a bit over $5 for three months = $160.

Because the setup fee can be up to $80 and the taxes can total well over $10, this could easily apply if she hasn't yet been billed for the sixth month.

I doubt it. The OP is either in the fetal position on the floor mumbling over and over "Its only 19.95, its only 19.95. no hidden fees, no hidden fees"

or they realized their mistake and don't want to post the proof.

Just went to ATT.com. Checked out the $19.95 deal. In the FINE PRINT, it says "OTHER CHARGES: Taxes and additional fees extra."

So this is my 5th month going into 6th and i have already paid about $160. I have called up every month complaining why my bill is so high and all they could say is we gave you the credits and this is what the bill says......so what can i do about this? Nothing am i correct? So for everyone who has AT&T and is going through this and got something out of it, tell me!

BTW: First 3 bills we're about $150+ each!

Bolded items seem contradictory...they must have given you credits.

$160/5=$32.00 a month.

$19.99 is the monthly fee. You then have an installation and activation fee that may be spread out over several months. You then have taxes which could be federal, plus state, plus county, plus city, plus any of those & a convenience tax or excise tax. Read your bill. Your bill should have a list of line items for what you're being charged. Don't just call them and bitch, do your homework before you ask questions.

Maybe we should talk about this when you're off the rag... and sane.

A friend of mine signed up for AT&T dsl and they certainly did screw up his billing and it took quite a while for them to admit the mistake. It was quite obvious to him on his bill that he was getting billed 2x for dsl. But their customer service kept saying it was correct. He eventually got ahold of someone that understood the double billing problem and they finally fixed it after wasting hours of his life spread over multiple days. And what he found out was that it was happening to a large number of their new customers but apparently the customer service reps had never heard of this issue before.

thats nothin, thats the introductory price, after a while they'll try to jack up your rate by saying you automatically went to "month to month".
