By federal law every carrier must charge you taxes and fees. There are fees and taxes.

Then you are mistaken. Obviously. Scan your bill and post the image sans personal information so we can show you where you're wrong.

Hahaha - this is such great comic relief. Just a hunch, and possibly racist, but I imagine DamnRhea as an older Asian woman. It makes reading those irate "Why aren't you agreeing with me?! You're so stupid!" posts pure comedic gold.

What's so hard about looking at your paper bill statement? It will clearly show you an itemized listing of what you are being charged for.

You sound like you have the mental capacity of a 6th grader by the way you type. It's no wonder you are too stupid to understand a simple bill, let alone do some simple math calculations.

$19.99 is the monthly fee. You then have an installation and activation fee that may be spread out over several months. You then have taxes which could be federal, plus state, plus county, plus city, plus any of those & a convenience tax or excise tax. Read your bill. Your bill should have a list of line items for what you're being charged. Don't just call them and bitch, do your homework before you ask questions.

Hey u stupid idiot! i said its $19.95 a month each month for 12 months. If i said they charged me activation fee and all the other crap don't you think i wouldve said that as well?
BTW: AT&T does not charge tax for their internet service, so like i fucking said u dumb bitch, $19.95 a month for 12 months thats it, thats all and no more other charges

I've done ISP billing. Customers are stupid and I have *never* in my years and years of reviewing bills with irate customers, have ever found an incorrect bill. Read your bill. Pay your bill. Read the fine print and educate yourself before you sign up. There are always "hidden" charges. Always. And, "hidden" in that it's in the fine print that nobody ever reads but bitches about (hence this thread) once they get their bill.

If its 3x monthly charges of 150 each that is REALLY high for activation fees . I have COX and even our activation fee was somewhere around 50-80 bucks. I don't quite remember. Even with all the hidden fees, I don't it ads more than 10 bucks a month tops. You are definitely overstating it.

No, i said specifically its 19.95 a month no hidden charges no nothing, $19.95 a month is $19.95 a month. So if alot of you idiots think there are hidden charges, there is not. SO let me get this straightend out, $19.95 a month MEANS $19.95 a month.

There are. Read your fine print. It doesn't make one bit of difference what you say, you are wrong.

I hope this is getting under your skin, too. Maybe you'll snap and realize how stupid you're being. Then, maybe, with a bit of calm logical reasoning, you might be able to figure out why you're wrong.

Every time you call AT&T, you talk to a tier 1 agent. That agent is specifically trained to coach you on your bill, going line by line with why you're charged. If you aren't informed on why you're being charged what you're being charged, you're either lying about calling AT&T or you're being just as irate and irrational on the phone as you are in this thread. In that case, I'm not surprised the AT&T billing rep is basically giving you the middle finger to get you off their phone.

Geez nik are you wrong, att billing screws up plenty. Often they don't give you the promo rate or they use a lot of fancy pro-rated algorithm that makes your bill double.

This thread makes me lol.

Probably goes like this
19.95 internet service
4.99-5.99 modem fee
Fed/State Taxes

probably ends up being like 30-35 bucks a month

Most ISPs offer "free" basic installs that would otherwise cost you $50. Most of them also offer $100 "pro" installs that are discounted down to $50 for new customers, etc. I doubt he/she/it understands everything on the bill anyway.

Taxes alone will cost more than $10/month. I'm not estimating anything. I haven't seen the customer's bill. I'm not telling them "this is exactly why your bill is higher than you expect" I was just giving examples of why the bill may be higher than expected.

holy crap, we have 7mb dsl with qwest here at work, attached to a 5 line rollover and a separate data only line, total of 7 lines iand the "office connect" package on top of that and we barely pay 20 bucks more than you. att does suck.

if this were true, your bill would reflect that. apparently it doesnt, since youre here bitching about it. most all bills have an itemized list of charges. if youre willing, scan and post it so you can prove us idiots wrong. otherwise, calm the fuck down and read the shit.

fex fees and excise fees arent tax, they are also mandatory by law still i think. these wouldnt be waived in your "tax free" internet service. also, when bill 1 hit at 150 bucks, idhave been on the phone fixing it. why wait so damn long?

edit:

thats because they arent hidden, they are itemized. if the reps say there are no hidden fees, how do they justify a 19.95 bill being 150 bucks? your logic is broken. either the reps lied to you or you didnt read the fucking bill. pick one.

It may depend on the area *shrug*

I know there are multiple fees that are on our bill, one of which is some kind of tax. Seems more like a flat rate though and not a percentage.

I understand, but you are being a little extreme. Yeah 'hidden charges' come into play, but unless this guy got pro install where they even did surgery and plugged the modem directly into his brain, or he is paying for a much higher level of service and is unaware of it....150/month over three months is very high. Lets say that after fees its mor elike 35/month. that is 105 over 3 months. At 450 dollars, that makes it 345 dollars left over. 345 is a fuckiiing expensive connection fee.

I'm not disagreeing with you Nik, I'm just saying that either he is totally lying to us, he has no idea that he has a much more expensive service, or there are some PRETTTTY costly charges that indeed are wrong.

....OP stop being a bitch and post a pic of your bill with your details blurred out.

without your bill/ account info on hand it wouold be a useless call. hidden charges are just that... HIDDEN. itemized charges on your bill wont be hidden. if your bill says something like

19.95 -intarwebz
0.00 -tax
------- +
150.00 -total

the math would be wrong, you could call them and they would say "o wow, howd that happen?" and fix it. since they didnt, im betting there are items listed you havent noticed. scan all the pages to your bill and post it with personal info blacked out or stfu.

That's odd, I just checked the expense reports of a few coworkers for whom we pay their home internet access. No taxes charged on their time warner nor AT&T bill.
