Well i recently posted in OT that i got DSL Lite for small businesses for $19.95 a month and no tax, so my bill should be $19.95 a month each month for a year. $19.95x12=$239.40.
So this is my 5th month going into 6th and i have already paid about $160. I have called up every month complaining why my bill is so high and all they could say is we gave you the credits and this is what the bill says......so what can i do about this? Nothing am i correct? So for everyone who has AT&T and is going through this and got something out of it, tell me!

BTW: First 3 bills we're about $150+ each!

This just in: man landed on the moon!

$19.99 is the monthly fee. You then have an installation and activation fee that may be spread out over several months. You then have taxes which could be federal, plus state, plus county, plus city, plus any of those & a convenience tax or excise tax. Read your bill. Your bill should have a list of line items for what you're being charged. Don't just call them and bitch, do your homework before you ask questions.

Hey u stupid idiot! i said its $19.95 a month each month for 12 months. If i said they charged me activation fee and all the other crap don't you think i wouldve said that as well?
BTW: AT&T does not charge tax for their internet service, so like i fucking said u dumb bitch, $19.95 a month for 12 months thats it, thats all and no more other charges

How much is your local and long distance telephone service without the internet? How much are they charging you for the internet itself? What "extra" charges are they adding on the side? We have the 1.5mb service and our bills come to about $150 per month. After dealing with them for a while now I kinda expect extra stuff to be tacked on with AT&T.

I've done ISP billing. Customers are stupid and I have *never* in my years and years of reviewing bills with irate customers, have ever found an incorrect bill. Read your bill. Pay your bill. Read the fine print and educate yourself before you sign up. There are always "hidden" charges. Always. And, "hidden" in that it's in the fine print that nobody ever reads but bitches about (hence this thread) once they get their bill.

1)Get them on the phone while you record it.
2)Post it on youtube.
3)Start a blog keeping track of what is going on.
4)?????
5)Watch it grow as you get news attention of your struggle against 150+ dollar monthly charges
6)?????
7)At this stage, hookers and blow should somehow come into play. If it doesn't, you did something wrong
8)????
9)????
10)And it should all be resolved.

Hey, calm the fuck down. Nik is right. On every contract there's the small text that explains how extra installation charges etc apply. Sounds like it's NOT $20 and you're just too illiterate to read where the extra charges came from. Blow up like that again and I'm sure you'll get a vacation at the minimum if you don't already.

Whoa dude, you're aggressive. Calm down or you don't get any help here.

Did the first bill have the modem fee? Are you sure you read it correct? When I got AT&T, I had the modem fee, the shipping fee for the modem, first month, and partial month.

No, i said specifically its 19.95 a month no hidden charges no nothing, $19.95 a month is $19.95 a month. So if alot of you idiots think there are hidden charges, there is not. SO let me get this straightend out, $19.95 a month MEANS $19.95 a month.

FFS, you don't get it do you? There are ALWAYS HIDDEN FEES. If it meant $19.95/month you would be getting charged that. You're not, which means you're being charged installation or hardware or something that you obviously don't understand.

$19.95/month is for the service. The extra isn't charges for the service, so technically you're still getting charged $19.95/month for the SERVICE, but there's things other than the service you must pay for.

Can you please post a copy of your bill (with account numbers and names blanked out) so that we can point out where the money is going.

my father had to call directv a bunch of times before they'd stop lying and give him the promotion he was supposed to get. it eventually took a complaint with the BBB, after which directv called him to apologize.

There are. Read your fine print. It doesn't make one bit of difference what you say, you are wrong.

I hope this is getting under your skin, too. Maybe you'll snap and realize how stupid you're being. Then, maybe, with a bit of calm logical reasoning, you might be able to figure out why you're wrong.

Every time you call AT&T, you talk to a tier 1 agent. That agent is specifically trained to coach you on your bill, going line by line with why you're charged. If you aren't informed on why you're being charged what you're being charged, you're either lying about calling AT&T or you're being just as irate and irrational on the phone as you are in this thread. In that case, I'm not surprised the AT&T billing rep is basically giving you the middle finger to get you off their phone.
