People who don't save every like 5 min are idiotic...

I hit CTRL + S everytime I'm writing a paper and I hit the end of a sentence or I need to pause to think again. Unless I'm rambling on for 2 hrs straight, I'll be saving everytime there's a little pause in my train of thought.

people who don't set up auto save in word are crazy. 😉

you can set it to autosave every 5 minutes you know.

BAH. I am so pissed. I was using microsoft word

temp files...FTW..I've done that more times than I can count, and if you go to your documents and settings folder, then sift through recent temp files with a recent time around when you were working on it, you should find a good chunk there.

Hmm I looked in my documents and settings folder but i dont see the folder your speaking of,. I have show hidden files enabled...

Real-world lesson that Slimline learned when studying for his final:

Save often.

Sometimes it's the secondary lessons we learn that are more important than what is taught in the class.

Show system files, too. Go into your User folder, and you should see Local Settings>Temp. Also, look in whatever folder you saved it into, there should be a file with almost exactly the same name but no .doc at the end, its a temp file that may have something. But since you didn't save it at all....

thanks for the help everyone. Luckily after making the notes i am fairly familiar with where the info is. Pretty well time to go, I hope I am prepared. And Trey, the real world lesson means ****** at 2:00 when 35% of my mark rests on my stupidity 😛

*Update* Just finished the final. Breezed through it. Lol thanks to all that tried to help me out. Now to study for tomorrows final. Woot

YAY for you! 🙂

I HATE when documents get "lost" like that...it is sooooo frustrating!

We all pay "stupid tax" at some point in our lives. 😀 Glad to know that you didn't have to pay it in this instance - congrats!
