Omega Drivers

Omega drivers eztended the life of my radeon 9800 pro quite a bit, I]d recommend giving them a shot if you have an older ATI card.

But just use whatever works for ya.

I've been using ATI official Catalysts ever since I upgraded from my 6800 to a X1900XT. Gotta try out the Warcats. 😛

1. Do they really provide a performance boost to your video card?
2. Are they actually better than ForceWare and Catalyst?
3. Which is better...Omega or Warcats?
4. Are the Omega Drivers made by the Omega Company that made my case and PSU?

A better question is, do they ever plan to update their drivers? the release date on their website says April of 2005... whats up with that?

1.) Yes Performance AND IQ boost. Sometimes colors just look better
2.) I think so
3.) Sometimes it depends on the system but I've liked the Warcats. (guess I'm just loyal to Tweaksrus, I use there XTreme-G Forceware all the time)
3a.) I find that Tweaksrus is the best when it comes to Nvidia Tweaked drivers. ATI it's a toss up. Someone should compare them.
4.) I doubt it. Omega drivers are made by an ATI driver person I think

Thanks wizboy.

But in regards to...

Do these "old" drivers still work better than the newer ATI and NVIDIA drivers?

Were does it say that?

I guess it only applies to nVidia. If you want to download the nVidia omega drivers it reads: Released on 04/06/2005.
Under ATI, it reads May 25th of 2006. Still old if you ask me.

Warcats and XTreme-G Forceware drivers are both up to date. (6.7's and 91.37's) so if you want them up to date check out Tweaksrus.

And no, old drivers are "that" good.
