Do these "old" drivers still work better than the newer ATI and NVIDIA drivers?

I guess it only applies to nVidia. If you want to download the nVidia omega drivers it reads: Released on 04/06/2005.
Under ATI, it reads May 25th of 2006. Still old if you ask me.
