Omega Drivers?

They are roughly the same as the Catalyst drivers. They are merely tweaked. You'll get more options to choose from in your control panel when you install them. I think a lot of people here just use their drivers if they have a softmodded card. You'll definitely want to clean out the Catalyst drivers before installing the Omegas.

The Omegas claim to take care if it. I had no problem when I installed the omegas without removing the old drivers. Of course removing them can't hurt.

It should also be noted that the Omega drivers, for both ATI and Nvidia, will run on notebooks using ATI or Nvidia vid chips. A major plus, especially since notebook vendors seem to have difficulty rebadging ATI/Nvidia reference drivers. You'll be lucky if you can find a notebook vendor that updates their notebook's vidchip drivers every 6 months. Lazy bastards. 😛

what Bateluer said, for laps its an absolute necessity.

Some games would not run before i installed the omega drivers, now they run great.
I dont know why they bother putting in better vid chips in laptops, if they are not gonna support them with drivers that work.
K

Just try omegas drivers at your own risk, i screwed something up during the install andnothing gfx card related would install after that, not even ati original drivers, and i had to reformat to make it right, but still i'd recommend omega drivers over ati's

Do you use an ATI card?

I have, but I can't say for sure weather or not I was using Omegas back then. If you're worried about it, it only takes a moment to ininstall the old drivers.

Do you realize a performance boost? I tried them out. It seems to perform slightly better.

They're the same as the Cat 4.10 final drivers for me.

The Omegas are invasive and their control panel is confusing. They're a PITA to uninstall, and I'm still worried that they've left traces of stuff on my system.

I'm gonna have to reformat though. I had installed the Omega Drivers just before I found out about the new Catalyst 4.10 Driver from ATI, which increases my 9800 Pro performance by about 6%
