I heard that there is a seperate set of drivers out there called Omega drivers that improve picture quality at the expense of some speed... has anyone had any experience with this driver set?

There ya go...Omega Drive's Little Corner

Yes, his drivers focus on compatibility, stability, and image quality with games, by sacrificing some performance. I never had to use them before I put in this 9700pro, but they definitely helped some compatibility issues I was having. They also have some built-in tests and tweaks that aren't included in the stock drivers, and you can access the card settings w/out having to install the rest of the bloatware found in Dets and Cats/Control Panel.

I've been using Omega's drivers for my ati radeon 32mb DDR for a couple years now...
I've never really had any problems with anything not running, or glitches, or artifacts, or anything of the sort.
I guess that's kind of the point.
Also, Omega himself is very responsive to e-mail, which is nice. He's open to feedback/suggestions and quite willing to answer questions.
So I recommend them for ATI cards. Don't know about his NVIDIA drivers, I assume the situation is similar though.
