Omega 3 supplements

I've been on a quest to better my health. More specifically, I'd like to improve my cardiovascular system. I've began eating plain rolled oats as a snack, cup of blueberries and omega 3 supplements every day in addition to other healthy diet (low saturated fats)

I'm not sure how beneficial the supplements are though. I'd like to hear other people's experience and whether or not to keep buying them. Its a liquid capsul type by Jamieson. Extract from salmon, sardine and anchovy. There is also the option of flax seed extract?

You don't need omega 3 suppliements unless you are being fed intravenosly for a long period of time.

Your best bet is to try to get as many of your vitamins from your diet than suppliements because you body can use them easier from food sources (bioavailibility)

That said, they do play a role in heart and blood vessel health so taking them isn't necessairly a bad thing but if they are really expensive I wouldn't bother.

Flax seed oil is good for digestion though (keeps you regular).

Anyways, thats just my take on it from my nutrition course I just finished up.

Eh the cost isn't a bother. I'd rather pay out a few $$$ and have some better health.

I do not eat fish nor flax seed so it pretty much limits any omega 3 intake I have.

I'm just looking for healthier heart...had a history of heart problems in my family and recently the thought has kind of scared me.

do a google search for some nice recipes

fish like salmon and these eggs are some of the best sources of omega-3. Maybe you are not preparing the food right and that is why you don't like the taste?

do cardiovascular exercises to increase the number of collateral vessels in your heart. diet won't do it alone.
