Many of us (including me) learned the hard way that this week's OMAX sale is a REGIONAL SALE. I happen to be in one of the NON-SALE regions, and when I called 1-877-OFFICEMAX earlier today, they wouldn't place a DELIVERY ORDER for me on the WD 120 Gig HDD! They claimed it's OOS, not being RE-STOCKED, and thus cannot be BACKORDERED (total bull$hit)!

Now back to our story...
After reading various suggestions by users in the FW thread, I decided to take a different approach. I called OMAX back and asked the CSR if I could place a phone order for IN STORE PICKUP. The response was that so long as the item(s) is/are in stock, then YES I COULD. I proceeded with my order that way, and at the end, I asked the CSR to e-mail me a copy of the order! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REQUEST A COPY OF THE ORDER BE E-MAILED TO YOU!!!
The CSR did so, and upon receipt of the e-mail, I printed it out and headed to my local OMAX B&M. I also brought along w/ me my own typed up list of the items I ordered (showing the correct SALE PRICES) as the OMAX.COM e-mailed order info was very difficult to read (you'll understand what I mean when you get one). Furthermore I brought along w/ me a printout of the OMAX.COM coupon TERMS & CONDITIONS (but as it turns out I didn't need it).
When I got to my OMAX B&M, they first tried the same line that the rest of you have been getting (i.e. regional sale not valid here). I asked to speak to the manager, and explained to him the following:
a) I'm merely here to pickup an OMAX.COM order.
b) Since OMAX.COM was unable to ship some of the items to me, and since your store has it in stock, OMAX.COM was able to place my order for IN-STORE pickup at your store.
My OMAX B&M ended up re-ringing up the entire order as a fresh order but price adjusted all the items to the sale prices and applied the coupon discount at the end. BTW, my typed up list made it much easier for the CSR to re-ring up the order. All prices were verified though against the prices in the OMAX.COM e-mail (i.e. don't bother cheating).
Consider the above a YMMV situation; however, IMO once you have that OMAX.COM order confirmation e-mail, you're 100% in the right to expect your order to be fulfilled (assuming the items are in-stock at your OMAX B&M).
P.S. Because my OMAX B&M is not part of the REGIONAL SALE this week, I'm unable to get my hands on this week's OMAX Weekly Ad Planner and OMAX MIR Quick Reference Guide.
