ok, so i decided to drag my ass to the b&m in torrance, ca and they had stacks of the special edition wd. they rang up at $159.99 though. i didnt have an ad to show them so i just bought it and they took a $30 off $150 printed staples coupon no problem. i figure i'll go in later nad pm to their own ad when i find one. so if youre in the torrance area, you should be able to get one today no problem.

Jimmyjam you better return that drive ( or fight with the manager to get an officemax.com pricematch; which they may not do because this deal is regional) because I searched the whole Southern California Area and ads posted here are not valid!

This deal is regional. go to the officemax website and check the local sales box and see if your area is in there...

The reason everyone is calling in is because they can't get this deal locally or they want to get those coupon codes to work.

are the rebates regional or can i still get in on those? if happy with the $130 i paid minus $80 in rebates.

Hi,

Has anybody been able to find the online coupon number? I have looked high and low for it.... The order center stated they would honor it... if I could find it. It starts with an "A".

Thanks!

No they are not regional. Also, I read your post in the other thread and that is why you didn't see the $30 taken off immediately, because its not valid in so cal. The closest valid place to me was all no. cal which is a 200 mile minimum drive. I.E. alemeda, SF, Sac, etc.

Go to mystic man's post and read the rebates incase I misinterpreted, but so far I think I'm right.

you are right ... Santa Barbara is closer... but it would still take us a full tank of gas to get there, so forget that.... oh well I hoped I helped, atleast I saved you a drive to try to PM your local store.

I just bought the WD 120Gb and Advantage Micro CD-RW from a local OfficeMax B&M store.

They do not honor the phone coupon number. (you have to show a PRINTED coupon. Has anybody found a printed coupon?)

I was going to return the HD and the CD-RW and buy them online -- I found the PHONE coupon code at http://www.hotdealsclub.com/co/39/-- but noticed that the OfficeMax rebate coupon is only good for 14 days from the date of purchase... thus, if the order is delayed... or I am delayed... I would lose the WD $30.00 rebate and the CD0RW $40.00 rebate.

I'm going to stick with what I have... it's such a great deal.

Local store opened t 11, got there at 11:10 and got the next to last one out of 50. No problems using the $30 off $150, didn't even read it, cashier said he had seen them before. Manager said they expect to get some more hard drives in

I got in on Deal #2, but it says the HD is on back order, most probably 7-14 days. This would mean I am getting the HD beyond the sales date. Can I still get the rebates?

Grabbed a couple of sticks of 128MB for the future-father-in-law's machine. Thanks for the hook-up! :D

BTW, the 128MB on sale is PC100, but they might be out and the manager should be willing to hook you up with the PC133 for the same price. YMMV, of course, but the PC133 didn't ring up with the $25 IR, but the manager did an override.

I just picked up a 120GB WD(8MB buffer too) without issue here in Salem, Ore. I'm shocked they still had some in stock more than 2 hours after they opened.:Q

Just got one of the WD 120gb SE. I had a print out of the coupon and when I asked OM.com why isn't the drive on their website they said to go to my B&M and use the coupon in store. The CSR would let, but the damn assistant manager wouldn't. What a punk. Anyways using the online coupon is YMMV for sure.

Only photocopy flyer that you can find it HERE

I guess the sale is not national :(
Also when I try to go to Officemax website and look to OKLAHOMA, no special :(

This deal is kind of a letdown after the Circuit City deal last week. You kind of get spoiled when you don't have someone paying you $27 to take a WD 120 GB SE drive off of their hands. ;)

I wasn't even lying. Check Om.com why don't you see the drive there???? Because all of their distributors are out and they tell you to go to your local stores. Wouldn't you want an extra $30 off????

Any help? What can I search for to pull up this drive online? I tried "cendyne", I tried the item number and I tried the manufacturer's number and nothing.

TIA,

Staples will NOT pricematch the Cendyne drive to OfficeMax. I tried this morning (and others have, too) and are now getting the "We cannot pricematch as it is their anniversary sale and we do not pricematch to anniversary sales".

FYI on the Khypermedia CDs guys. Nero is saying they're using long-term dye(Cyanine), but it's also saying 32x is the max on my Asus 48x(even though the CD spindle says 48x on it), so it's a mixed bag.

For those of you who live in a region where this sale IS NOT GOING ON, please see the update at the bottom of the ORIGINAL POST in this thread on how to proceed with your order for IN STORE PICKUP (in your "non-sale" region). :)

Staples pricematch policy sucks now. It's like a non-policy.

Well.. If I could actually get the link for the DVD burner to come up on a search on the Officemax site, I might have a shot at getting Staples to PM. There is absolutely no mention of a "anniversary sale" if you look at the link provided online for the burner. It just gets sticky when you start talking about the Officemax flyer. That's when Staples could argue that it's part of their anniversary sale. I personally think this anniversary sale crap is a bunch of bunk. Officemax's deals are no hotter than usual if you ask me. Staples is just using it as an excuse to weasle out of a price match.
