Omaha Steaks used to have a reasonably priced sampler pack that came with 4 Filets, 4 Sirloins, potatoes, and an 8 pack of burgers from around $60.

I'll bet that the sampler costs double that now, sadly.

What a crappy website, I was going to look at what $50 can buy but they don’t let you enter without signing up for their mailing list.
First sign they are over priced right there.

One year my ATOT SS sent me a rather large assortment of Omaha steaks and they were actually pretty darn good considering they're frozen.

Then the NEXT Christmas (also from SS) I got a truly massive custom-assembled BBQ meat assortment culminating in a couple stupendous "Tomahawk-chops" which really put things in perspective!

:D

(sadly can't find pics at the moment)

My ad blocker seemed to do a good job stopping that stupidity :)

They also seem to have a $100 minimum order before they'll ship anything. So, yeah, that $50 gift card is kinda worthless for online ordering.

Ugh, wasn't like that last time I visited the site, maybe 18 months ago

i just wanted to see how much is shipping but...

"You are using an ad blocker.

lol.. i cant even add something to my cart:
Fully Cooked Smoked Brisket | Omaha Steaks

i guess they dont want smart people shopping their site if an ad blocker is preventing people from even putting stuff in their carts.

or is that their marketing strategy?

If you're smart enough to use an ad-blocker they probably figure you're smart enough to find a better price for your beef.

The only time omaha steaks is "worth" it is if it's already 50-65% off or more.

I've gotten their burgers a few times when they were like 67% off and that seemed about as "worth" it as I would bother paying for. They're good burgers, but full-price on their stuff is just dumb.
meh.. never 60%+ off and free shipping for $50 order.
There's a store "near" me.
do they honor their website sale prices?

You may as well sell the GC then
Can get cash $36.50 (73%)
or $37.41 walmart gift card

Probably will go the Walmart route

I remember ordering a bunch of meat from them in the oughts, was happy with what I got. Prices were a lot better then obviously. Last time I used them was idk, 2017? Was utilizing a $100 GC and remember being surprised at how little I got. They were bacon wrapped sirloins IIRC, and they were completely average.

I don't have much need for those kind of vendors anymore though. My red meat consumption is at an all time low by choice, and for the times I do have a craving I can buy local wagyu direct from the farmer/butcher that lives down the road. Fresh or frozen, and he'll do custom cuts for me no problem. Sorry Omaha.

I have a $50 gift card for Omaha Steaks from my casino.

Went to their website.
Is it me or are their steaks super expensive?
and shipping kills anything i want.

Basically, the $50 gift card is near useless?
Yeah, they're a scam.

If you don't have a local butcher (getting more and more rare), Sam's Club and Costco tend to have fantastic cuts at decent prices. I just got prime filets last week for $11.99/lb. 4 great filet mignons for $38! Seared them on the Blackstone and ::chef's kiss::

Yeah, they're a scam

Paying top-dollar for frozen beef can never be a good deal no matter how carefully it's packaged but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call them a scam... more like severely over-priced/hyped.

I've received Omaha steaks/burgers a few times as gifts (including one years ATOT Secret Santa) and they were always at least pretty good.

After shipping all you can buy is a 4 pack of burgers. I bet your casino got those for free and handed them out like they paid for them.

It reminds of the $100 gift card for wine that comes in an Ipad box. The wine you can buy with that card is restaurant priced so $100 won't buy any wine pack. Have to spend at least $200 to get $50 worth of wine.

If I am spending $200 on wine I would expect to get two bottles of good wine, not $50 worth of wine. As for steak, I buy prime filets from a local market that has a meat counter with quality meats. I could get a couple prime filets for about $50.
