I work part time at one they are carried there the person may have not known what they are talking about or that store didn't carry them?
 
These are NDAS drives not NAS. They require a software loaded on the computer to be able to see the drive. Good side is that it also has usb to function as a drive.

ps i use one of these, the NDAS software adds security as anyone without specific info about your drive cant see it, even if they are on your network. 2 minutes to set up, works great!
 
Doh... I bought one of the 80gb refurbed from overstock a few months ago. Great drive though, have had no problems. Used it for USB 2.0 between two computers to hold my mp3s as I traveled from school and home. Now I have it attached through its ethernet port as a network drive 🙂
