After much calling around last night, I found one store that had a new one in the box. I bought it for $199, and went back today and got a $160 refund. Awesome camera and an awesome deal....

I only get discontinued item online. I believe you can get employees in the store to check the system and see which other stores have inventory. That would be preferable to calling every store in a particular area/region and quite likely ruining the deal for consumers at every one of those locations, as many Einsteins have apparently already done.

OOS in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area (or at least that's what the clerk said). None on the shelf or in the clearance section and he said two people had already come in looking earlier on Friday. Supposedly, this area's been out for months which seems reasonable for a "final clearance" item.

Usually stuff which gets sent back to the manufacturer for credit or must be destroyed as opposed to being sent back.

I got the Olympus c-50 Zoom they said originally 399.00 to 199.00 , I wasnt sure how to finish off the repricing, maybe i outta take it back and have them reprice it then, becuase it registered at 199.00 at the check out stand, Hmm thanks for the reply
