Office Max has the camera advertised for $249.99 in the Sunday flyer. The web price is $300. Use the $50 coupon that can be found (I got it from jumpondeals) to reduce the price to $250. Call Office Max & have them pricematch the B&M sale price of $249.99 - Net of $200. Cool camera cause you can instantly print out a small polaroid print.

Link to camera at om

Seems to have some fairly good specs, including optical zoom for a $200 camera:
* Built-in digital photo printer provides high-quality prints (each print takes approximately 15 seconds)
* 2.1 megapixel CCD
* 640 x 480 and 1,600 x 1,200 pixel images
* Two-inch color, low-temperature, TFT LCD monitor with backlight feature
* 3X optical 5.4-16.2mm, aspherical glass zoom lens (equivalent to a 35-105mm lens on a 35mm camera)
* 2X digital telephoto
* Built-in flash with six operating modes

From the reviews I read it got decent reviews. Lowest price I found on Pricewatch is $399

I just wanted to add to your post. The price is in fact very good. The drawback to this camera is its size. This thing is huge compared to all the other digital cameras (including the SLR types) on the market. I think its size will eventually be its downfall. I thought the idea of an "instant-digital" camera was cool too, but I think most people would rather buy a digital camera and then get a photo printer (like the HP Photosmart P1115). Tough call.

Good post, thanks for the price update.

Take care,

Not a bad price, but it is HUGE and no wonder it's on a HUGE sale. There's a reason for it. I wouldn't buy it.

It's a larger digicam, but it's intended for people that could use the printing function - such as real estate agents, insurance adjusters, etc...

Definitely heavy & bulky. I read it's about the size/weight of a hardcover book. Still, if this isn't an issue, $200 ain't bad.

still NOT BAD for people who want instant proofs and aren't so out of shape that they sprain their wrists lifting anything heavier than a twinkie...
thanks for posting this deal!

I saw this deal too this morning and read some reviews, the main complaint is that it chews batteries bigtime since it has no viewfinder, the LCD has to be on all the time. So factor in the cost of 4 or more rechargeable AA's and a charger if you don't have one. Still seems to be a nice camera if you don't mind the bulk. I'm like others and am looking for something small and light as well.

I just bought it from OM using the coupon at the jumpondeals site. If you are gonna use it, hurry as the coupon expires Dec 11 or 12th (I forget which). I figured for the price ($216 after tax) this was a great deal for a 3x optical zoom camera. I mainly want this to take web pics, so the size doesn't bother me (I never liked how small digital cameras are). Also, I would never us the advanced manual adjustments of the higher end cameras, so this is perfect for me. Only thing I wish it had was a closer macro ability, like the Nikon 950/990/995/etc.

I ended up changing my mind and ordered a Fuji 2800 last night. Advantages of the 2800 over the C-211 is the 2800 has a 6x optical and has a closer macro ability (~4 inches compared to the C-211's ~8 inches.) Also, the 2800 seems to take a little bit higher quality pictures than the C-211. Disadvantages are that the 2800 does not take TIFF pics (only JPEG) while the C-211 does. Also, the 2800 does not have a threaded ring on the lense, meaning you cannot use a filter to protect the lenses or for telephoto, etc. The C-211 has this threaded ring, although according to one review, it was an odd-ball size.

The 2800 cost about $100 more, but I figured it was worth it. Now I just have to take this C-211 back to OM.

I joined you after I realized that I could do with a 2MP instead of a 3MP cam and Iove that 6x zoom.

Have any of y'all installed the Camedia software that came with the C-211 under XP? The CD case says it is version 2.0. The Olympus website says v2.5 must be upgrade to v2.51 for XP support, but there is no upgrade from v2.0 to v2.5. They want you do buy v2.5. Does this crackwhore company actually expect us to buy software that should be free?
