Stats show Team USA's outside shooting is only better than one team in the Olympics, the Russian Womens Basketball team.

I'm glad, cause those spoiled NBA boys will go home hanging their heads in shame. Bunch of overpriced punks!

To be honest the US are lacking their best players but this is still kinda pathetic performance from the worlds supposedly greatest team.

However, basketball does not interest me so i will wait for the World Cup, that will be fun to watch.

while i agree to a point. You have remember these are not the first choice of players they wanted. But they were willing to go and play.

I think the biggest problem is that we play street ball while the rest of the world plays real basketball.

The truth is that the international game is different than the what the NBA game has evolved into. The NBA game has become a game of power and strength, with slashing and dunking and fighting for rebounds. The international game is a more fluid fast-paced game, where passing and shooting play a bigger role. The US team has better basketball players, but they have simply not been able to adjust to the international game. Personally, I like the international game better, it's more fun to watch.......

Everything u say is true...but it didn't make any difference to the original dream team which included the likes of MJx2, Bird, etc.

True, but back then the NBA game had not yet evolved as much. In the eighties when the Lakers and Celtics ruled, it was still much more of a flowing game, where skills mattered more than brawn. Look at guys like McHale, Parish, Worthy etc -- they could not do what they did in todays game, they'd simply be too weak. The NBA game started 'turning' toward a more physical game when the Bad Boys (Pistons) won their championships (90, 91). The original 'deam team' was the best group of players together on one floor that I've ever seen..... and it showed!
