I was trying to order this damn thing. Going through checkout I was still being charged for shipping. I figured I could just deal with it after I placed the order. I couldn't place the order though. About 5 minutes later the price in my cart went up to $399 + Shipping.

This is TigerDirect's way of ripping people off (one way of doing it anyway) and its nothing new to them. The people that catch the difference and gripe about it will eventually be refunded that shipping cost with a lame response along the lines of..."We apologize for the mistake and have taken steps to correct the mater..blah, blah, blah...". The people that don't catch it...oh well, TD keeps your money.

OK, oh smartassed one, have you actually TRIED to add it to a cart and then checkout? If you haven't, then shut yer yap, because you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

First, it's NOT an exclusive Anandtech deal.....it's a "free shipping" deal at TD, available to anyone who happens to click on that product.

Second, when you add it to your cart and then attempt to check out, it ADDS SHIPPING to your purchase, hence the "deception" being bandied about because it ADDS SHIPPING to your cart.....the supposed "free shipping" is not there.

In my case, it added $21.13 in shipping, all the while in caps and bold print proclaiming FREE SHIPPING for the product. A quick call to a TD CSR got a response that was less than satisfactory: Pay the shipping charge then put in for a refund for the "free shipping charges." Yeah, right!!!

TD strikes again!!!

Hint to Anandtech Dealmaster..........NEVER take deals/advertsing from that place again!!!

Just for grins, I went to the site to try it and when it was in my cart and I added my zip code, shipping charges of $20.xx were added. However, when I got to the point to enter credit card info, the shipping field was back to $0.00.

You may want to try again.

Glad it worked for you because on the "submit order" page in my checkout, my shipping costs were still $23.13........it never disappeared or zeroed out.

I've had too many problems in the past with TD to even THINK about clicking on that link.
The price is right (i'm sure it's a referb but I didn't bother looking), but the company is FAR from one I want to give any of my money to ever again

when i took mine, it showed 29 dollars for shipping when i added it to my cart. but when i went to the screen where i put in my credit card it had changed to zero. is this tv any good?

I bought one of these about 2 months ago - if my OD rebate comes through my price will end up at about $189 🙂

it's a decent TV - LCD - good picture - it's not really HD though. It's really only EDTV - the highest resolution is will do 480p. which is fine for me @ $189 but i wouldn't be impressed at $369.

you WILL see a difference between SD and HD channels... but the resolution is not as high as you might think.
