That's really nice, but I'm wondering what kind of overall sharpness you can expect to get with one of these. I mean, you're taking an image that's meant to be displayed on 17"-21" full size display and trying to stretch the image to a perceived 105" while being displayed on a 0.59" screen. Unless the pixel density can be drastically increased on those visor displays, I would think the image would end up looking a bit fuzzy.

Time will tell. All of the other visors have fallen by the wayside.

I hold out a lot of hope for this visor. Emagin actually manufacture the displays, so there shouldn't be any supply issue. Also, I had a collegue who used a HMD with their OLED displays and said the image quality was very good.

if the resolution was better on the visor I think this would be awsome. the virtual multi monitors sounds very interesting....get these in something like 1280x1024, added with the new 3d based interfaces were going to see in comming years and I can see this replacing monitors. laptops could be made to just sit in a bag while you have a bluetooth keyboard and headset to control it

Interesting stuff...

But who wants to be 12' away from an 105" screen? I'd want to AT LEAST be 30 feet away. It seems like the amount of information may be overwhelming.

Also, does this mean that you'd need a souped up machine with a wicked fast video card, to process all those graphics?

Raeldor, what is an HMD? is that a the sony monitor?

I don't mean to come accross as though my aim is to shoot down the product; I simpy find this pretty interesting and seems worth investigating.

$900 bucks is a huge chunk of change, but if this thing is worth every penny of it...
