the equivalent of a 105-inch movie screen viewed at 12 feet

Now this is the future of gaming! Can't beat almost having your entire field of vision in the game.

OLEDs are perfect for this since they emit a low amount of radiation (i wouldn't want a pair of lcds half an inch from my eyes). One potential problem though is resolution. How many pixels can they pack into a 0.59" screen? Still, the technolagy can only improve, and I really hope this catches on.

Couple that with an x-fi, and the shure e5c $500 headphones, and you will truly be in the game.

(16x AA & 16x AF from 2 7800GTX's couldn't hurt either)

That would be the important question for me. (Well, if I were ever to be interested in 3D goggles anyway, and I'm not sure that the idea appeals to me in practice necessarily)

But it does sound like a cool idea...hopefully larger OLED's are closer to becoming mainstream (although I feel like we've been saying that for quite a while now)

One thing that I noticed in the FAQ's, it ISN'T a stereoscopic display. Man that would be cool if it was.

Somehow that site doesn't seem trustworthy to me... the icons on the bottom aren't clickable, and they've mispelled "commercial"

True, but if 3D googles catch on, i'm sure that stereoscopic ones would come out. Problem with stereoscopic displays is the video card has to do double the work, since everything has to be rendered from two different angles.

Edit: It is stereoscopic. See the blurb on the right.

105" screen @ 800x600 = crap..

With a lot of AA it could look decent...

16x Transparency supersampling AA from 2 7800GTX's should do the trick.

EDIT: you also have to rember, it said it was 800x3x600 pixels.

Pretty sweet. I'm thinking thought quite possibly eye strain might be a factor here. Yes?

possible, but i'll bet by the time this technology hits mainstream where at least 1/4 of the people have it at low costs, the eye strain problem would most likely already be solved

For 3D operation, you will need to ensure that you are using a compatible NVIDIA graphics card and have downloaded and installed the necessary drivers from NVIDIA's website.

How would it be solved? Your eyes are still focused on a FIXED point a couple of inches away from your eyes.

Anyways, maybe if it had 720p or 1080p.

Well, Ati doesn't have stereoscopic drivers for their graphic card. I always feel that Ati only has quality driver on the mainstream stuff, but not on anything else like linux, stereoscopic display, OpenGL, HDTV LCD scaling etc.
