Hi guys, I need help on deciding if 2900PRO or XT, and GF 7950GX2 with the price less than $80 is still a good buy compared to the newer mainstream level GFX such as 8600 series.
My goal is to get < CAD$100 Card which still has comparable performance to the newer cards.

All three of those cards are definitely faster than the 8600 series. The 2900 series would perform close to current Radeon HD4670.

Out of them both id say the 2900xt was faster plus it is dx10 and will probably have lower power comsumption (although both will use lots)

ATI 2900xt = NV 8800gts 320mb = ATI 3850

I *just* upgraded from my 2900Pro, but really I didn't need to. It pushed my 22" (1680x1050) monitor plenty well for my tastes. I did run my 2900 @ 800/1600 and did have the 512bit version though. The 2900 card generally can be faster then the 3800 cards as they are basically the same performance specs with more memory bandwidth. The only real drawback I saw with the 2900 card was that they did certainly suck a bit of power though.

*edit - I also wouldn't bother with the 7950x2 at this point. I think most of Nvidia's driver effort is going into their unified shader cards. If you want to go the Nvidia route, for around that price I think you'd be much better served with an 8800GTS 640/9600GT or someting along those lines.
