Oldest piece of currency you've found?

I've got a old penny somewhere.
It's so worn from age that the date is gone, but the rough design i believe is ~1900..1915.

doesn't have any value, kinda neat though.

1929 penny.
When I was 11, my mom had an english teacher that collected all the pennies he had in this big bowl and one day gave it to my mom. It had 40,000 pennies in it, and my mom made me count them and sort them by decade.

Is it made out of steel or something?

What US coins were made out of steel during the war?

I found a 3000 year B.C. coin.

It was made of bronze and was clearly marked 3000 B.C.
😀

Wait a second. Was it written in ink or was it formed into the face?

I used to find coins from the 1800's when I was a kid.

The last really COOL old $$ I found was a 1934 $20 bill.

From the 1800s, eh? Those were freshly minted, right?

I have several of them put away somewhere.

Now if you can find a copper 1943 penny, it's worth big $$.

Found 1845 gold coin, 1/3 ounce pure 24 carat. Doesn't worth much more than the gold weight value, however it is in mint condition, therefore some collector might paid as much as 3X the gold value.

I found it when work as a landscaper. It was wedged in between a boulder when I was breaking it with a backhoe. I stoped the backhoe to check a shiny object in the dirt/rocks and was surprise to see it.

It made my day, and I bought everyone on my crew a couples of round of beers that everning.
