I'm 39 and play on Dethecus (Moz/Suedehead). Most are pretty mature on my server. It's a low pop server, so that may be why, but I get the impression that they are older players as well.

Welcome fellow old fart, me = 39 also 🙂. I am currently playing on Kilrogg for 3 days now, lvl 16 pally. Maturity level seems to vary by area, but no issues so far on my server.

Same. OP, what level are you? It gets a lot better once you're about level 20 or 25 + and out of the newbie zones. The last time I was in the Barrens I was subjected to spam from 2 children who were too chicken to duel, but alas not too chicken to spam about each other's mother, and I ended up leaving the general channel because of it. Also, Horde players seem much more mature; every 12 year old and his kid brother made NE female characters, it's great to not to have to hear what must be ridiculous amounts of spam and AOLspeak from them (u no wut i m takkin about olololololo). At higher levels you can also look for a respectable guild to join.

Do you actually have a horde character? Just wondering. To me the horde is extremely mature, but that's mostly because I can't understand anything they say, rarely see them, and don't have to tolerate their spam of LocalDefense.

Do I have an alliance character, do you mean?

Do you have both, is what I really meant. Just wondering if you are basing the assumed superior horde maturity on only playing one side, or what. I have only played up to level 10 as a horde character on a medium pop server. I encountered about 3 people and none spoke to me. I guess you could call that mature...

My main character is a 54 shaman, but I've played a human paladin to 6 and have a level 1 to keep an eye on the alliance AH.

I do, and stupidity knows no boundaries. General chat is also bad enough on the horde side that switching it off first thing is a good idea.

On the whole though, I would agree that there is *more* stupidity on the alliance side - I mark this down to the lack of 'hot' female characters on the horde side for horny teenage boys to play.

I got a chance to meet Cthkathal on Shadow Song server and we had a good time running a quest together. I got my charcter up to lv 24 and have noticed that there are more mature players in the higher lv areas. I have a friend that wants to start playing he is 36 or 37 and I think I am going to start a new charcter to play with him. If anyone else wants to start new charcters to run with that would be cool. Maybe we could even start an Old Fart Guild! My current charcter is " Alexbeard" a Dwarf Palidin on Shadow Song. Look me up if you find yourself on Shadow Song.

LOL. me = Cthkathal

Anyway, the wife and I are playing some new characters here lately:

me = Cthkathal (Dwarf Hunter - 25), Alorae (Human Mage - 5), Aidán (NE Warrior - 5), Savagebull (Tauren Shaman - 4)
her = Aprudesity (Human Warrior - 19), Aprisan (Human Warlock - 5), Nádia (NE Druid - 5)

I think we have you on our friend list for most of our chracters already. Let us know when you create a new character.

I really might have to pick a copy of this. I'm just worried that if I do I'll a) end up waisting the monthy fee and never playing b) end up getting addicted and playing every day for a few hours and failing all my classes ... and sadly this might be more likely ... How are the servers? Is there a lot of lag? I played for like the last day of the open beta and things were pretty laggy in some of the larger areas. Have things improved?

It depends on the server. Join a small or medium population server and you'll be fine. As far as getting addicted, don't worry. I'm addicted and I still go to all my classes, its just my social life that dissapeared. 😛
