Older software for posable design/animation, eg. Poser 3

Hi all,
I'm trying to find inexpensive software that would allow me to pose models and tinker with lighting, for the digital art that I make. I don't have a lot to spend, and I don't need anything very advanced. Just software that would allow me to pose adult and child, male and female figures, and change the direction of the lighting. Amazon has the following for sale:

http://www.amazon.com/Poser-Remarka...qid=1434748163&sr=1-4&keywords=poser+software

and

http://www.amazon.com/Fractal-Desig...id=1434748218&sr=1-16&keywords=poser+software

Does anyone know if either of these would meet my needs?

Also, my laptop runs Win 7. The first of the two, Poser 3, requires Win 98 while the second, Poser 2, requires Win 95 or NT. I assume they would run on my laptop, but wanted to check with you guys to make sure that's a valid assumption.

I wouldn't assume that software will work, especially if your Windows is 64bit. It may, or may not.

I don't know much about what you're doing, but Blender can probably do it for you. Problem is it might be too advanced. You may be able to import a model someone else made, then pose that. It'll only cost you time to try it.
