I'm talking age 40+. They see the lingo kids use, and then try to implement it into their own online vocabulary.

The result is something like, "Good to hear from you again, LOL!!!! T.T.Y.L."

Anyone else notice this?

It's funny when my mom is on facebook. I tried chatting with her, and she replied with wall posts.

Off you go to buy penny-candies and moonpies!

Remember your post in 2055 when Assmagazine or Cocknovel or Dickscarfencyclopedia comes out and you don't speak the lingo.

Meh, I don't really care. I have plenty of tasteless pics/comments on there. I throughoughly warned my mother before accepting her request.

My aunt is on facebook, and literally comments on every single thing I post. It's quite annoying and she asks the most random questions. Her husband also joined and posted a note that was almost nonsensical:

"Everything was clear. It was that dreaded test of up the """"" to look for cancer. That due to Grandpa Martinez having died of cancer. How are you doing? I have not heard from you for awhile. Just to catch you up. I have been out of a job since Nov 20 but Dec 17th without income due to stupidity of my boss. I continue to look but real bites with a few ph and face to face interviews. Tia continues to take care of the Hayden all day and then Brooklyn after school. I need to leave her with that task. I raised by Kids. Don't get me wrong I love my grandkids but...... When do you foresee coming to KS? You need to take a break from there. How is the dating for you? I hope you are happy. May God Bless you!!! Please pray for me in finding a career. I getting to old to be looking forever. Thanks
TIO"

Yeah... He speaks english very well, but this note looks like he wrote it in spanish and used an online translator or something. Kind of amusing, though

Isn't it odd the way everyone automatically assumes that the goo in soap dispensers is always soap? I like to fill mine with mustard, just to teach people a lesson in trust.

Mom just joined Facebook. Am so glad I deleted mine last year, that would have been horrible. I can just see myself "This is not good. World's are colliding! George is getting upset!"

I talked my dad out of joining, thank god. I have my nieces and I really wish I never added them. Their status updates horrify me :D

I guess there's a reason it's called a "friend" list.

Guys, just be upfront and refuse to friend your parents. My mom's friends apparently have facebook and are enticing her to join, so I've agreed to help her set up an account and show her how to use the privacy settings. Nothing beyond that. :p

This is why when my future kids grow up and get out on their own I'll make a point of transitioning from "parent" to "friend".
