I do it all the time and get every rebate. OM was having a lot of WD deals earlier this year. This is a completely new deal, go for it!

I missed out on this the 1st day of the sale but they had them in stock this morning. I got there right when they opened, went to the hard drives & there were two of them on the shelf with no price tags of course.

Took one of them up to the front & the guy said, "Oh, these are the ones on sale. This is a great price, huh? "

Duh

He tired to push the extended warranty on me but I declined 3 times! He also wanted to know how many were still back there. (wanted another for himself no doubt)

Great deal thanks Mermaidman for the heads~up!

Also, when sending in your rebate forms don't forget to sign the form in the space provided. I'm sure a lot of people will miss this, so be careful.

Sweet! All the CC's near me got restocked today. I picked one up. HOT HOT HOT! The only better deal I've gotten in on was the $20 for 80 gig deal a while back.

They also asked for extended warranty. I was like, no that would double cost of drive.
Something I forgot though, you can get 3 year warranty for $15 direct from WD. Tell them to beat that! heh they wanted to charge me $40 for thiers.

heh, I told the guy about WDs $15 3 year and he actually started to argue with me over it:

"If I were you, I'd check if that warranty covers lightning strikes"

gotta love the idiots cc hires...

yeah, they really are total morons. It makes me feel really badly for people who don't know any better, and go in there and listen to these idiots.

----------------- Deal is OFFICIALLY DEAD ------------------------------

Some1 needs to change topic....the $50 rebate expired today.. (was valid through 5/26)..so if you special ordered the product on or before 5/26 you should still recieve the $50 rebate(can't confirm)...but it has expired....so the deal is dead..drive is back to $89.99 AR

I looked at copies of my rebate forms, which printed out at the register, and they both expire on 5/29. CC's website now shows only a $30 rebate.

Maybe somebody has a copy of the $50 rebate with the 5/29 expiration and someone else can host it?

Say: No, the surge protector I got has a warranty that covers up to $50,000 equipment connected :)

It was a $30 and a $50 rebate. Neither one need the original UPC. I wonder if there's a 3rd manufactures rebate somewhere you could use to make this hotter hehe. The original rebates I have from Wednesday are from 5/23 to 5/29. NEITHER expired on 5/26. One is program YE051 and other is program YE065.

$30 rebate YE051: http://www.circuitcity.com/cs_contentdisplay.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&incat=94403
$50 rebate YE065: http://www.circuitcity.com/cs_contentdisplay.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&incat=94502

Looks like they EDITED the rebate of YE065 to read expires on 5/26. My printed copy from CC B&M does NOT SHOW THAT. It shows to 5/29.

The new $50 rebate you posted only applies to the 80gb drive, not the 120...i think the deal is dead.

That would be great. I have the printed ones from B&M but other people may need it.

When I tried to get a PM on Tues @ the CC in Round Rock, TX, they said they were NOT PMing the this hard drive to Fry's anymore. Reason is b/c their price after rebates is lower than Fry's price, so they don't see the PM being valid. I talked to both the customer service manager and the operations manager. They both said they received a letter from the corporate office that said they will not be honoring this specific PM.

So if I special ordered it today....would I get the OLD(5/29) or NEW(5/26) expired dates on the $50 rebate when I pick it up later on (after the 29th)..?!?!

Also, if the internet redemption rebate form had just the difference of 5/29 and 5/26, couldn't we just copy the form and change the 26 to a 29..?..That is under the assumption they don't notice the purchase date being AFTER the 26th when they "officially" expired the rebate..(at least from the internet redemption rebate)

Hey guys, picked my drive up today - I had it special ordered but I had to go in a couple times because although the computer said they had them they couldn't find em! Thanks to Luis (one of the CC reps), who went back and looked for himself, I got my drive!

If you order it today, you get the date of today and the rebates dont ship with your order you print them yourself so they would be the ones on the circuitcity website. So dead is basically dead since they edited dates, unless you want to edit them on the printout and hope they dont notice.

hmmm, so since I did a special order, when I pick my drive up on Saturday there won't be any rebate printouts??

You'll be fine so long as the date on your receipt (showing you paid in full) is between 5/23 and 5/26, so if you've special ordered it you might be ok.

Submit you rebate unline using YE051 for the $30 and YE065 for the $50. Both rebates show

5/23 through 5/29 for purchase dates. Search for these program numbers and fill in info and print.

Easy as that.

If you paid in full when you special ordered it, your should have gotten the rebates with valid dates along with your receipt. That's how I got mine.

If you made only a partial payment or no payment, you may be screwed.
I think the rebate forms cross hands when the cash in full crosses hands.

Cletus if you have the rebates that say 5/29 please upload them somewhere for others and post the url. If I remember my business law correctly they have to honor them.

I believe withdrawing an offer before a written date is illegal.

READ THE BOTTOM OF MY MESSAGE!!!
$50 rebate is still good! =)

#$@!, I forgot to sign the forms, lol. =(

BTW if anyone wants the $50 off rebate, just go to www.circuitcityrebates.com and enter in YE065 (that's a zero and not the letter O) for the program number. Click continue, and the date on the rebate is still 5/23/2004 - 5/29/2004. =)

<edit> I just checked the www.circuitcityrebates.com form and it doesn't ask for a signature. Whew! The one on circuitcity.com does for some reason.

<double edit> The $50 rebate is not dead yet! Like I said, there's still another rebate form that doesn't ask for your signature and has 5/29/04 as the offer date. There seems to be a loophole. I guess CC figures they were selling too many so they took it off the main site, but they didn't take it off the rebates site yet. BTW if you still had an old rebate form I doubt they can void it.
