Hey you children of the late 70s&80s - do you remember SLIME?

That gooey stuff that came in a green plastic garbage can (or it's sister product, the pink slime with rubber worms in it)? How can ANYONE that handled it ever forget the smell? I can recal it now - quite a unique odor!

lol I actually ran around selling newspaper subscriptions in the late 60's and one of the prizes was a container of Slime. That stuff was a blast.

Yep. I saved all my money for a summer so I could buy a he-man scene that was like a torture chamber that dropped slime all over your figures. It was cool.

Oooh what about the old electric football game. The guys vibrated all the way down the field with that fealt(sp) football.
I also remember the Crazy Wheel...anyone else have that?

You guys are dating me here, I was like 15 when Teddy Ruxpin came out. I had original Star Wars Figues, weebles, a Green Machine, Lincoln Logs, Legos, Erector Sets, Lite Brite, Play Doh, Silly Putty, and sit and spin. And yes we threw lawn darts at each other, had rock fights and BB gun wars and are all still alive and in one piece. Damn PC American media trying to protect everyone.
Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.
Yeah, I miss the days of trying to maim my friends.

Just remember how fun old toys were....

And those funky orange binoculars..wtf were they called?

What were your favorite toys as a kid?

I assume you're talking about Viewmaster. I know I had a bunch of reels, but the only one I can remember was of the Grand Canyon (in colorful StereoVision).

My favorite toys were the old Girder and Panel construction sets designed for use with Matchbox/Hot Wheels-sized cars, up until I graduated to Star Wars figures, and finally, 3" G.I. Joe figures.

How about the Kenner SSP racers? You know - the cars with the big huge flywheel in the middle that you got spinning at like 3000rpm with the T-shapped pull handle with teeth on it. Once said flywheel was spinning, you set the car on the floor and it rocketed into the hearest furniture leg or adult's foot.

What about the "Shooting Gallery" that plastic box with the pistol that had a magnetic tip on it that you pressed against the thin plastic sheet in front of the box and fired BB's at painted steel targets.

One of my wifes clients (friend of her moms from way back) just gave her back this toy that was hers when she was 7 years old.

This one right here

Litebrite sucked because I lost too many pieces.

yeah, I ended up swallowing a lot of those too.

LOL! I was scrolling down this thread hoping someone would remember the name of those things!
As a bona fide nerd, I loved Speak 'n Spell, Speak 'n Math, and Simon.
I also liked girly things like Chinese jumprope, and my personal favorite, POGO BALLS!

BTW, I went to high school with a girl whose dad invented Teddy Ruxpin. 🙂

I also recall another toy that looked like a plastic motorcycle engine called a Vroom. You fastened it to your bicycle and a controller to the handlebars. It made an engine noise like a motorcycle.
