My friend lent me his touch screen computer that his office threw out. I want to speed it up to make it useable if that is possible.
I don't know much about hardware but I do know some things about the system that I was able to learn from "DXDiag" (I'll post the pictures if i can)
Processor: Intel Pentium, MMX
Windosw 98 (4.10 Build 2222) A
Memory: 64MB RAM (wow right!? It's awsome fast)
Direct X 6.1a
Device Name: Chip and Tech: 69000 PCI (Toshiba) -
(^^)Don't know wtf that means, processor manufacture?
Chiptype F69000 Rev 4
So many questions!
What kind of motherboard/processor chipset is Intel Pentium MMX?
---
Are there better processors that I can use on this motherboard?
--
Can I upgrade the ram? How can I find out?
--
Can I load another operating system onto it? So far it hasn't recognized my external usb hard drive but I haven't tried a usb stick yet. Gotta wait till store opens tomorrow. I was wondering if the touch screen might work better with an ipad simulator if there is such a thing. Probably best to try windows xp or 7 if i can even load them. I would need a lot more ram to run them though, I realize.
I know you guys have better stuff to do than worry about my problems so thanks for your time, I really appreciate your help
