Ah, the good ole days. I can see why "the powers that be" instituted that rule, as the handwriting was on the wall that FS/T was going to become out of control very quickly; really, it is today. Still, it was an awesome time to deal in used hardware "back then".

I picked up a Cellermine 533@800 back then, a terrific bargain for the performance it offered. Threw it on a MSI BX Master and it was my rig for quite a while.

I don't do much in FS/T anymore, between the trolls and the price explosion. Back then, you could get good deals on almost anything. Now, prices are almost as high as new on many items. Full-context searching is a huge boon to finding the item you want, but I'd take 1999-2000's prices over today's any day of the week.

No, my fleet was an office one and I left that job several years ago. I'm down to two machines at this point, mine and my wife's.

Lived through the old UBB days, the WMC fiasco ($165 for the Hitachi), the dennilfloss controversy, HAPPY KITTEN flirtations, ISLA as our camp counselor and lots of on-line friends to pass the time with (Counterstrike!).

With age comes a house, kids, more responsibility at work and correspondingly less AT.
