Coke made with sugar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Coke made with corn syrup

My recent trip to Italy reminded how Coke should taste. I was an 8 year old kid again drinking real sugar Coke.

fixed? I assume...

incandescent vs compact florescent bulbs

The latter are much better for energy consumption and longevity, but the old bulbs give off a much better light imho.

You can get coke made with real sugar from Costco.

Well, you can around here anyway. It's made in Mexico.

Windows. Win2K worked (and still works) just fine, whereas Vista is more or less a pile of steaming poop.

I can't think of a strongly compelling reason to use 2K over 2K3, though, or 95/98 over XP.

Are you serious?

win95/98 = crap

2k/xp = great

vacuum tubes vs. transistors isn't a matter of analog vs. digital. Both are capable of being used in both digital and analog applications.

I think the technical reason for vacuum tubes being preferred over transistors in audio applications has to do with their frequency response.

Incandescent vs. LED
Flashing LEDs on cars are annoying. They slam on and off instantly. Can't beat the slow winking of an incandescent. Much more pleasing to the eye.

And for interior lighting the warm yellow glow of an incandescent has way more charm and atmosphere than a harsh white fluorescent. See? :light:

One uses way less energy and that is why we use them... -_-

Late 90s cell phones.

Oh yes, it was awesome holding an alternator to the side of my head.

Oh, and cars with computers suck. Not being able to start my car in the morning because it *thinks* I'm stealing it is just retarded (yes, this happens).

I don't know what kind of cell phone you had but the one I had wasn't that big. Looked something like this.

It had numbers. You pressed them followed by send and that was it. Simple. Like a phone should be.

There are phones that you can buy that are like that...(simple) I just remember those phones had terrible battery life.

Wow - that's like hitting the superfecta on 4 different tracks, on a single day.

All points very, very true.

And if Trident yearns for the weed of old then he knows not of which he speaks. That shit sucked compared to what we have today.

Definitely agree with the Tubes > Solid State, though I will say SS is getting better and better sounding (and cheaper).

I've been waiting 15 years for an automatic and/or CV transmission that is better than a manual, but it's still a no go for me.

Time will tell, but I feel like the 90's era Acura's were more solid than post 2000.

For geeks/nerds (at least in my experience) it was much easier 10 years ago to meet very cute girls off the internet because only geeks/nerds knew how to use the internet.

We had vacuum tube amps when I was a kid, they were all woefully underpowered. I think the only diff. vs SS is a tube amp will clip the waveform "softer" vs a transistor amp, the simple solution is not to overdrive the SS amp. Also the older vintage transistor amps (old pioneer, Kenwood, Yamaha ect.) were of much better quality than today's crap. Frequency response was always rated at 20hz-20Khz not 40hz-20khz like todays stuff, skimping on power supply is what it amounts too.

MP3 players. All I wanted was one with a lot of space without a bunch of other junk. The iPod Classic and the Zune 2 were probably the last of a dying breed... and I hate flash players because I have too much music, and when I want to listen to something on a whim, chances are it won't be on my flash player.

Cowon A2/A3! Best sound quality of any portable device.
