Hello all,

As you can tell from my nick, I love the Monkey Island series. i would marry it if i could. I love LucasArts' graphical adventures. I've played and completed most of them. I plan on building a computer of old parts and installing win 95 or 98 on it so i can play all my old games.

I need to know what everyone's favorite graphical adventure games are. The ones where you point to an object, pick it up and give it to some dude, which triggers some new event, and things like that.

here are the games i have / have played:

all four Monkey Island games
Grim Fandango
Full Throttle
The Dig

Is Betrayal at Krondor like that? i can't recall.
I'm dying to play the Space QUest games, which i know everyone has raved about.
I just got both Broken Sword games, but they're not working on XP.

i know there are TONS more like this, and i want to know what they are!

Thanks a lot, guys!

No, it was a (very good) RPG, in between the AD&D gold box games and Baldur's Gate in technology level.

Have you checked out "The Longest Journey" ? It's gotten raves.

The demo for "Omikron: The Nomad Soul" was pretty cool, very atmospheric and some good David Bowie soundtrack music, but the reviews were mixed.

I tend to stick with the RPGs myself (Wasteland, Fallout 1-2, and Planescape: Torment are my all-time faves) but I am playing Grim Fandango now and really enjoying it most of the time. ("Look kids, it's my bone saw!" had me laughing out loud.)

Loved space quest and kings quest as those were my favorite types of games, but best of all was the Legend of Kyrandia (SP?) series. there were 3 of them, and you have to play them in order to apprectiate it. the story and point of view and game changes from 1 to 2 to 3. it's in that same genre of pick this up/ do that/ solve this, but great graphics and superb storyline, and best of all was its sense of humor. trust me that's my vote.

Legend of Kyrandia
Space Quest
Hero's Quest
King's Quest
Leisure Suit Larry
Willy Beamish
Maniac Mansion
Sam and Max: Hits the Road
Colonel's Bequest

I miss those days when we used to drool over those Sierra and Dynamic games. I loved them all! :D

That's longer ago than I thought too...
I don't have it anymore, it really rocked! Think it's freeware yet? Would love to play it again sometime!

DAMMIT!

I was just about to say "I guess I'll be the first to mention Zak McKraken!"

Some other good ones...back before Origin became "The Wing Commander Company" they had Tangled Tales, Space Rogue, Knights of Legend, Omega and Times of Lore.
Omega isn't an RPG/Adventure game, but it was astounding.
Knights of Legend is a straight-up D&D style game. It was incredible.
Space Rogue is a combination RPG/Space-flight Sim.

In those days Origin wasn't known for Wing Commander, it was known for games that were so complex they bordered on being unplayable (the Avalon Hill of computer games).

Any of the old Infocom games are good.
I always thought Loom was a beautifully made, albeit stupid game.

Did anyone mention Freddy Pharkas?
