I hope I never get old. My grandma's staying with us temporarily. She's always complaining, telling me what to do, making messes in the bathroom (ehh, you don't need any details), etc. For some reason I have myself convinced that I'm never gonna turn out like that. I think I'll kill myself when I turn 70 just to be safe. Unless there's some other way to avoid it .. ?

No, there is no point to this post.

Definitely....there's no way I could go on living like that. There's only two options IMHO...

1) Be extremely active and busy person so you are never weak or "too old" to do anything until you are actually dead.
2) Go out with a bang in your 60's-70's. :)

Why wouldn't you want to be 70? You'll be senile and talking to your family about the past like it's the present. :D:p

Somehow that doesn't sound very entertaining.

Uh oh, prepare to be crucified for 'disrespecting' your elders by the ravaging idiots that lurk the forums. Anyways, I'm going to go out with a bang. I'm never going to become a burden to anyone. I feel bad borrowing things from people, let alone making them support me. Maybe your grandma needs to go out and have some fun. Ask her if she wants to do something fun with you.

Hmmm...so my mom should hope to be dead in 5 yrs. Well she has yet to make "messes" in the bathroom or boss me around...in fact she's the best mom anyone could ever hope to have. And I hope that my son gets to spend many many more years with his very cool nana!

Maybe if you took the time to talk to your grandma and get to know her instead of whining like a selfish little kid...you'd see a wonderful person who has a lots of interesting things to share!:)

Just my humble opinion!:)

I do talk with her. I play games with her. But I don't particularly enjoy and and I don't ever intend to be a burden. Maybe I won't be when I'm 70 but it's not worth the risk. Honestly I don't see how she could be enjoying life.

I have two grandmas (I'm out of grandpas)

One doesn't want to go anywhere unless she's dragged there, never cleans, is a massive conspiracy theorist, never pumped her own gas until the 21st century, doesn't like driving on the freeway.

The other goes where she pleases, keeps stuff amazingly clean (yet I never see her slaving over it), has her head on the ground, drives on the LA freeways.

Complete opposites. When I get old, I want to be like my latter grandma, she's cool.
