Hi all

I'm having a bit of a clear out and have stumbled across all of my old PC games from the 90s. Got about 40 of them in total, does anyone know a good place to sell them? Don't really expect anything more than peanuts for them, but don't really want to go the ebay route because of their charges etc.

Any ideas?

Cheers

eBay? You could always try that, I myself occasionally buy 8-Bit and 16-bit era games from there, some from the late 80's, most from the 90's, I'm sure that old retail PC games from the 90's are also available.

Yes yes I am guilty, didn't read OP's post completely, still, I suggest eBay since it's the only place I buy old retail games from, and the only place I've sold a few from as well (none were PC games however, only old console games). If not then why not trying here at Anandtech's "For Sale/Trade" sub-forums?

Yeah I'd list them here if there's anything good, otherwise, if they aren't worth anything, maybe donate them ? Library? even a 2nd hand type place.

If your interested in trading for games, you can try GameTZ.com, there are a lot of people there looking for vintage games. It's free to use, so you can try the forum here like others have said, and post them on GameTZ as well, and it wont cost you a thing.

Do you still have the boxes and manuals? It can add loads to the value of old PC games.

Thanks all, I'll try posting on here and GameTZ.com. I do have the boxes and manuals, can't believe how big they were back then!

Yes, the manuals for games used to be amazing, sometimes several hundred pages.

Hi guys sorry for delay, in case you're interested here's the list...
I believe Monkey Island 2, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle are valuable to the right person if they are complete, money or trade. Some of the others may do best for just trading, because while not worth a lot of money, the big box titles are often sought after regardless if you see the jewel case versions selling for just a few dollars. I am no huge expert either, so I could have easily missed some.

You can probably check out Half.com and Amazon.com market place to get an idea of their values. It doesn't mean anyone's buying them at the prices listed there, but it may give you an idea without having to look too hard.

You definitely have some titles that would be worthwhile to a collector (assuming good condition box, etc). I edited the list to show the more collectible games IMHO. Not sure what the best way is to sell them in the UK though.

Full Throttle
The Dig
Monkey Island 2 (3.5")
Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
Tomb Raider
X-wing vs Tie Figher
Grim Fandango
Day of the Tentacle
Sam and Max Hit the Road

Go to ebay, search for your game, click advanced search and look at prices of auctions which have ended. This is a good quick way to find out what your games are worth instead of just what people are asking for them. You'll have to sign in to do this.

Hell yes, have some goodies in that list. Xwing/xwing vs tie fighter, sam and max, day of the tentacle, and the original tomb raider all give me fond memories :)
