My brain hurts after trying to read that...

Sorry.

Do you really think the game is only 20 hours ? The worlds seem to be pretty big though and I love how real the water looks!

How did you people miss the fact that this is a short game? 😛 It was in all the reviews that were out days before the game came out heh.

I found a 360 review that says about 20 hours,

On the other, there aren't any real gameplay consequences, so playing with skill isn't rewarded. You could fumble your way through the 15 or 20 hours it'll probably take to properly explore Rapture and still see everything there is to see.

Maybe because all the other problems outweigh that ?

That's shitty. I really like this game, but knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it.

Bait and switch ftl ?

Can someone briefly summarize what all the fuss is about?

I planned on purchasing BioShock at a retail store over lunch. As I don't tinker with my computer very often, I cannot see my having to install it more than once in the next year.

So what exactly is the problem?

I have to agree. if i knew all i know about it now i would not have got it.

heh wish i would have waited instead of getting it on release day.

Any word on any sort of sdk releases to the mod community? There might be a saving grace in some nice user created mods...

I've never seen such a high profile release be so fucking crippled.

Thanks for your meaningful contribution, by the way.

I haven't either and I am in great shock so many people agree with me.

Finally figured out how to do two or more!

You're acting foolishly.

You are not able to read a sentence and understand what it means. I never said:

"NO ONE plays older games because the graphics suck ."

I did say:

"Why aren't you guys buried in more games from the 1990's [if graphics do not matter]? Some of the best adventure games are from those days. Space Quest, etc etc. You can't have played them all. "

'Listen, I know you love all the halo games and stuff. But take a breath here and listen. I made the comparison of a certain type of person who likes those games as well as certain types of movies. You fall into this category.

But whatever dude, go back to GOW. '

No you don't "know."

I've never played Gears of War, and I played Halo for a few minutes once years after it was released on a PC demo. I not only don't "love all the halo games and stuff," I've never even played or purchased them. That's a bit of a problem for your personal reasoning process considering you "KNEW" that I loved games I've never played.

I wonder if you even realize why making assumptions like you did all over this thread and then running with them without regard to whether they are actually true or not is problematic.

Still bitching and moaning about the graphics, are we?

You're BOTH acting like complete fools. How old are you? Why do I even care? Oh yeah, I have to skip over the massive quotes and shit being posted to pick out the important ON TOPIC things I'm looking for. Take the arguments somewhere else eh?

Haha that's great!

Saw this post over at OCUK forums,

2K Elizabeth Administrator

"hey guys,

first, let me say this. you DO NOT NEED TO USE THE INTERNET EVERY TIME YOU PLAY THIS GAME. it is only the first time.

second, you can uninstall and reinstall this game, and if, by chance, you have 2 computers you want to simultaneously play this game on, you also can do that.

if by some chance you are reinstalling this game without uninstalling it first, a lot, there is a chance you may have to call securom and get a key, or deactivate some older installations.

but if you upgrade your hardware next week, you'll still be able to play the game. if you revamp your system and need to reinstall bioshock, just uninstall it before you go through the overhaul, and then do your reinstall.

calling it "hardware fingerprinting" is a bit alarmist. we do not transmit any of your data to any companies.

really, the only people who will be concerned about any of these security measures are those who are rapidly putting bioshock on many pcs... if you use the game as you normally do, you won't notice this at all." .

2K Elizabeth Administrator

"seriously, if you guys are calling securom or 2K and not getting the activation keys, please SM me the names of the people you are talking to. this is NOT supposed to be happening. but everyone i have talked to has told me that when they call, their issues are being resolved.

if you really aren't getting the support you need, please message me about it. but anyone i have asked to supply this information with has not. emails nor names. i am not, in any way, calling you a liar. i want you to have the correct and proper support. but i don't know who to yell at without finding out the weak link. "

Haha Mem, it looks like 2k wasn't prepared for the assholishness of securom.

It seems that 2k has been changing their stances on this whole issue, firstly swearing by what they (didn't) tell us at launch, and now trying to figure out why their fancy copy protection system has failed so miserably and made so many people cancel orders and flame the game.

True, but who installs and uninstalls a game three times in the same day? This "catastrophic" problem with the release seems limited to a very small portion of the gaming population. I would assume most of us install, play through, uninstall, and call it a gaming experience.

yeah. i think 2k just did not know what they were in for. i think they are suprised at the backlash and were not ready for such a huge failure.

its to bad. the game while graphicly meh is pretty good (to me story is more important them graphics. hell i still play FF6!). But i woud give back the game for a full refund in a heartbeat.

If you want to test it on all your pcs you may. Some people own more than one pc.
