Well i am what you can say a pc enthusiast, ofcourse i like my hardware but unfortunately i am low on the $$$ department so i have alway been a bit skint during buying of stuff .. i certainly do not have a "must-have" system [it being an old Shuttle motherboard running a Celeron 1.1ghz@1.2 and 320mb ram] but its enough i guess for what i want to do .. [download all day long!]
also ok for some basic gaming
my problem is now is with my motherboard's performance, i noticed that graphics wise its kinda .. very slow! i get decent fps in games, but for example in windows my performance is suffering a lot .. it was especially furstrating when i saw a p3 450mhz drawing windows in winXP faster than mine! now that was a punch in the nose if you ask me. using wcpuid i noticed that i do not have sideband addressing enabled on my motherboard .. [running @ 2x agp .. yes, only]
i wonder how much difference this would play ..
my mobo is a Shuttle Spacewalker AV61 ..
chipset: via apollo pro 133
running fsb @ 110mhz and ram as well
its always been this slow, ever since i got it a few years back with a celeron 500mhz .. then with a celeron 600@750, p3 800 @900 and now with this celeron @1.2
its kinda furstrating .. i dont want to spend money to get a new motherboard if theres a way to fix this
i didnt flash the bios yet, friend with same mobo said it removes soft-overclocking and i cant have that
any ideas? would be most appreciated.
