I'd hardly call that a pounding. Canadians should be used to getting ridden harder than that.
Actually over the years we've been getting less and less snow, so it kinda hits us as a bit of a shock when it does happen. Life goes on though, still have to get to work. Typically this snow would have come in Sept/Oct but have not seen that in a while.
It's still coming down. Car got stuck while trying to back into my driveway which had about a foot of snow in it, 2 feet in some areas due to drifts. Took a cab to work, I'll deal with it tomorrow.
Though I prefer this, than the rain and slushy weather Toronto gets.

It rains enough in summer, last thing I want is some in winter too! Though it did get pretty hot at one point, one of my coworkers was saying it did rain for a bit.
