Old machine running VERY slow

I have an old machine that I use for a backup. Lately it's been running a lot slower than usual. I scanned for virus/spyware and nothing turned up. I think it might be a memory leak, are there any programs that let you monitor memory use in real time?

A reboot will wipe any memory leaks. Is it still slow after an immediate reboot?

It seems only a little slow at first and gradually gets worse.

It seems to help to a certain extent. It now takes twice as long to slow down.

How much RAM? You need at least 128.... Just reformat it. Win 98 seems like a breeze after u reformat (even with 128mb)

if you're using it for a backup, reinstall windows, don't use it, use your main rig, and use your backup only if you need to
